Stayed here for 2 nights - good central location - our room was on the 6th floor and we have an unobstructed view of the Acropolis - beautiful at night. We walked everywhere from here so would recommend o that basis. Clean but definitely "worn". Service from the maid was excellent - she even folded my washing for me! We were able to check in early and free wifi was reliable.

The staff at this hotel is really helpful and there's a delicious restaurant just up the road and you're centrally located with great shopping and neighbourhoods, walk to the Acropolis etc. The room is fairly nice though the beds are hard and the bathroom shower is small and needs a better way (curtain or enclosure) to keep the water in and not on the bathroom floor. You can also hear people walking in the hallways so it might be tricky for light sleepers. But you really can't beat the location or the nice staff.

Hotel Niki is quite small...so is the lift! Our room (501) followed this trend and was tiny, but quiet, with a large, very comfortable bed, an empty but handy fridge, great air-conditioning and a nice sized balcony...unfortunately with no view. There were no tea/coffee making facilities. The shower-room/WC was ridiculously minute with a hand held shower head and a solid screen on one side only! The breakfast consisted of the usual processed ham/cheese, boiled eggs, cake, toast, yoghourt, cereal, tea and coffee. Reception staff were friendly and helpful and our room was serviced well. Wifi signal was excellent and there is a PC for guests but with no working printer.

All in all, this is good value considering what you pay and puts you right in the centre of Athens. It is 5 minutes walk to bustling Syntagma and if you're reasonably fit, many of the sights of Athens may be reached on foot. There is a Metro stop on Syntagma if you want quick and cheap access to the airport on a modern air-conditioned train....or you can also easily take one of the frequent buses from Syntagma.

We arrived by train at Monestiraki, after travelling from the port of Pireaus (where finding the train terminus was hard...if you have no Greek)..then walked up Ermou towards Syntagma, finally turning right into Odos Nikis...where the hotel is tucked away way up on the left. Streets are cobbled so if you have cases on wheels you might want to consider a taxi or Metro to Syntagma!

Athens is a busy, exciting city with loads to see and experience. While it has its shortcomings, Hotel Niki is a cheap and convenient way to stay close to the action!

Breakfast is very bad.Hotel is just for overnight sleeping, room is too small for anything else.Excellent front desk reception. Walking distance to everything. Very nice breakfast room with friendly staff.

Modern little room with clean ensuite bathroom. This was only an overnight stay and it was a good choice.

Great location, some great little pastry shops further down the street.

Excellent front desk reception. Walking distance to everything. Very nice breakfast room with friendly staff.

We enjoyed Athens.

Good location for a short stay but err not a place I wud normally opt for :-/ We were transiting thru Athens on our way back frm Meteora and chose this hotel looking at d pictures and thot of giving a benefit of doubt to the reviews for once! But, we learnt our lesson well! A very shoddy reception, a lift u had to squeeze oneself into! A claustrophobic room quite stuffy! And my husband even found a hair strand on the bed and when he complained about it to d old, extremely disinterested man at d reception - he actually got no response just a lame 'u cud stay or leave' sort of expression! Gosh! We were only too glad that we just had a couple of hours to spend at this hotel! D only good thing was tht we requested for early breakfast and that surprisingly was served to us since we had an early flight to Santorini! Wud definitely not recommend this hotel!

Hotel is in a very convenient location with easy access to everything.

Rooms are very small. Our room had a nice big balcony but only a double bed while some other rooms have king size beds.

Problem with broken hair dryer and lights were attended to immediately which was appreciated.
