We chosed Diva Hotel to stay in Athens because amongst all the hotels located in the center of Athens and its sorroundings it had the best price for room. We expected to find a low class hotel with a correct staff. However, we have to state that what we finally found at our arrival surprised us a lot. The hotel was very nice, with a simple but beautiful and functional clean room with all the commodities that a voyager on budget travel may need. Nonetheless, the strong point of Diva hotel is not in its excellent relation quality-price rooms but in its very useful and completely kind staff. Nikos, the administrator, a very nice and educated person, was very useful for us in order to know how to move in
Athens, places to visit, where to have lunch or enjoy of incredible sights, etc. We'll never forget you, Nikos.

I was incredibly impressed with the fantastic welcome we received at the hotel. The hotel manager Niko, was delighful, a thouroughly thoughtful, intelligent and interesting polyglot who could not have been more helpful. Nothing at all was too much trouble. From advice about local dining, and places to visit - Niko was poised ready with advice,or even a glass of iced water (when we arrived ). Any problems with regard to rooms (one light bulb not working) were remedied without hesitation.

Both of the (mercifully) airconditioned rooms were decadently attired with a sumptuously opulent four-poster effect bed, with a small fridge in the room. (The room actualy resembled the photograph on the website). Admittedly some of the fixtures were a little worn and tired looking - however I can honestly say that given the cost of the accommodation I would be hard pushed to find any fault at all that isn't mittigated by the cost consideration.

Free wireless access was available in the bar (and reached some of the second floor accommodation) - just need to ask at reception for the WEP key.

Kipsellis is a traditional Greek area (where the "middle class Greek bourgoisee reside") with the wonderfully calming phokinos negri at the top of Sporadon. The hotel is about 15 minutes walk from Victoria (go straight up Patison and turn right up Ithaki which intersects Sporadon). On a Thursday Sporadon hosts a fruit and vegetable market - which is scrupulousy cleaned by evening time!. Good dining nearby at the mentioned Phokinos Negri and the square on Ithaki. (Gyros/Souvlaki on Ithaki recommended)!

I would ABSOLUTELY 100% categorically recommend this hotel to anyone, particularly if on a budget, staying in Athens. It was a beautifuly authentic Greek experience. Thank you Diva and thank you Niko for making our time in Athens thouroughly enjoyable.
