The hotel is new and very well presented, the rooms are large, clean and comfortable. Very helpful and friendly staff. Unfortunately the hotel is in a very poor and dirty part of the city. The good news is that a taxi to Sintagma square will only cost you 4-5€ (make sure you book the taxi through the hotel to ensure professional service at no extra cost)

The hotel is simple but very simple but very clean! Staff is kind and rooms are large and comfortable. The neighborhood is poor but we did not feel danger. The metro ( Victoria station) is 5 min walk. If you arrive by plane take the metro, it is very easy and cost only 8 euros. We did not eat at the hotel because there are wonderful bakeries in Athenas. But we had a very nice stay and for the budget we spent it was great!

We stayed one night. The room was big. Walking distance to station and some nice cafes in the square. It's a bit out of the main city area but we weren't planning on looking around too much anyway. Be careful of some maps. We got one from the airport and the hotel was printed in the wrong spot.

So we stayed here for one night prior to the ferry departing the next day. The hotel was great, there was a large jacuzzi tub in the room, there were bathrobes and slippers in the room. The staff were helpful. The only downside of the hotel is the location. The location is very near to downtown Athens, but not to the ruins or the plaka district. If you walk here it is a little sketchy but if you stay to the mainroads it will be okay. The price cannot be beat and the quality of the hotel itself is good.

We stayed here as family of 5 with 3 teenage girls for 3 nights and we left as friends with the staff. They accommodated our strange scheduled arrivals and departures with smiles and graciousness. The rooms were very nicely appointed with all the comforts of home. Great place!

We stayed just one night here and it was great for our purpose, go to the Acropolis and to the museum. Location was good, nearby restaurants and pharmacies,, and the most important, it was walking distance to Acropolis. By the way at the rooftop you can enjoy a beautiful view to Acropolis, mainly at night. Staff was helpful and kind. The room was a good size and bed was confortable. Breakfast was delicious and it was available at anytime, which is great for those who need to leave very early.

I would still recommend Centrotel for budget travelers despite our unpleasant last day due to the broken air-conditioning, just because the price can not be beat. I admit the neighborhood is not pretty at all, but it is a typical Athens neighborhood with graffiti and unemployed young people - yet perfectly safe, even at night. The hotel almost looks bizarre in the area. Our room was much larger than expected with plenty of space to spread out and put our luggage and items, a large bathroom with jacuzzi tub, and lots of light - everything is extensively renovated and feels pretty new. The only complaint I had is the bed was really hard and uncomfortable, and I am rarely picky about beds. Breakfast is 7 euro's and quite a good deal with eggs, yogurt, fruit, etc...the metro station is a five-minute walk away and we were at Monastaraki in 10-15 minutes. Syntagma and Acropolis require a transfer which budgets in another 10-15 minutes as they are not on the same Metro line. I was able to walk from the hotel to the amazing National Archeological Museum in 10-15 minutes, but otherwise there are just some restaurants around Victoria square and nothing else of interest anywhere near Centrotel. The staff was helpful with questions and requests.

Room Tip: Room location should not matter, the block is residential and mostly quiet and the only view you cou...
