“What else to expect from your money?”
Reviewed 5 August 2009

I have been in Centrotel for 1 night.
Excellent staff, they will assist you in a professional way. They know what tourists want. Rooms are very good for the money paid, they have Jacuzzi bath tubs in the rooms!! We arrived early and they let us stay in another room to rest, until we could took ours.
They are located 5 blocks from Victoria Sq. Metro station, that is to say a 5 blocks walk plus 10 to 15 minutes subway from all the popular places in Athens.

From what I know, is best for the money (not only in Greece).

We, 4 adults and 6 kids aged 9 - 45 , stayed at the Centrotel both before and after our island hopping holiday in Greece. The staff were professional, service minded and friendly - ready to accommodate 10 tired travellers when we fell through the door.
The hotel is the cleanest hotel we have ever stayed in and between the 10 of us we have a very large number of hotel stays between us!
This is the first review I have ever written, the reason being that I felt this was the best way the thank the staff and management at Centrotel Hotel for a wonderful hotel.
Good luck and keep up the high standard. It really does make a difference when travelling with kids to find such an oasis.

Centrotel is one of the best hotels we´ve ever stayed at. It´s modern, clean and the staff is extremely friendly. You must meet them to believe that there are still that kind of people living on our planet. They surely make a "bella figura" for their hotel, the city of Athens and the whole of Greece.

During our stay everything went like in a beautiful dream and I can´t come up with anything to complain about. And the price level is amazing - I´d say Centrotel is pretty close to a 5-star hotel, but you pay the same (or even less) you´d pay for a room in a hostel.

And when it comes to the location...I don´t really understand, what the people are complaining about in their reviews. Centrotel is located in a normal urban residential area. Nothing seedy about it, just ordinary Athenians. Plus there are 3 super markets and lots of cafés around the corner, and a superb gyros/souvlaki bar just next to the hotel. (Naturally, if you only want to see other tourists, then maybe better not to get outside of Plaka.) The walk to either Larissa or Victoria metro stations takes only 5 minutes, which makes the hotel very nicely connected. And the wonderful National Archaeological Museum is only an easy 10-minutes walk from the hotel.

All in all, I would recommend Centrotel for everyone, who´s planning a visite to Athens.

This is a modern, stylish, classy, hotel with excellent, informative staff and at a modest price. Indeed, the price is astonishing, given the standard of the hotel. It will suit sight-seeers who, at the end of a tiring day with sore feet, require a quiet and comfortable hotel but don't need a "room with a view" or a pool. It's 5 minutes' walk from the mainline railway station and from a choice of two metro stations. It's not in a smart area - a busy mix of locals, backpackers, hawkers and, (it must be admitted), immigrants on the streets, but there was no evidence of trouble or "edge" at any time of the day or night. There were as many oldies as "youfs" in evidence on the streets and eating out. We'd recommend it highly.

This hotel was above expectations. The rooms were nice, and the service was great. The only negative is the location. It is located in between two main train stations, about 3 stops for the city center. The walk to the hotel is through some seedy areas. But if you are not a night owl and will be returning to the hotel at a decent time, then you should be fine. The price is great.. a great hotel for couples, as the rooms have mood lighting....

This hotel was definitely a hidden gem! I was travelling with 2 of my girlfriends, and all 3 of us felt very safe. It was also very clean - considering the area.
Our room had 3 single beds with a big balcony - although our view wasn't the greatest. The bathroom was fully equipped with everything... we even had a bathtub with jets! The only issue we had with our room was the fact that the bathtub didn't have a shower curtain and the shower head was hand-held.
The hotel's location was okay (5 minute walk from metro station), but it was in an area of town where there were alot of locals and not too many tourists.
Overall, I would recommend this hotel to any travellers :)

This hotel really is great to come back to after sightseeing in Athens. It's good value for money and has lovely comfortable bedrooms with aircon, balcony and the star ceiling. There's free internet access. The service is excellent. The hotel location is convenient for getting transport to the main tourist areas, just a couple of stops away. The area could seem a bit scary when you first see it late at night, but in fact it's fine and I felt safe here. The spa baths are wonderful too. The continental breakfast, delivered to our room, is huge and very good and the rooms were serviced to a very high standard.
