“Good location, good price”
Reviewed 27 May 2014

We were pleasantly surprised with this hotel. Perfect walking distance from the main attractions in Athens. The staff was accommodating, and willing to set up a very early morning taxi for us. The hotel is on a main road, and while this means easy access, it can also mean noisy traffic late into the night. Due to booking a triple room, we did receive one of the nicest rooms on the highest floor. The room was clean, and the breakfast was delicious. While the space may seem on the smaller side for some, keep in mind this is standard for European hotels.

The museum hotel is perfectly situated near the interesting archeological sites in Athens. Tremendous restaurants are a short walk away. The hotel is very traditional so if you are not used to a European hotel you may be surprised that the rooms seem small. The best part about staying there however is the staff and the great personal care they give. You almost feel like you are staying with family. I would definitely stay again if I come to Athens.

The Acropolis Museum Boutique Hotel was a great place to stay for a night, while visiting all the hot spots in Athens. Within easy walking distance to the Acropolis, museums, the Plaka, etc. The staff was lovely and helpful. Small, so probably not a good choice for families, but for two of us, perfect.

I was expecting this hotel to be pretty decent based on the pictures, however it was pretty disappointing. The hotel is pretty old and you can tell, the carpets are faded and dirty and you can tell the building hasnt been updated in a long time. We reserved a standard room and it was TINY!!! We could barely fit our 2 suitcases in it. My husband and i had to tip toe around each other or hop over the bed to get passed one another because it was so small. There was also this musty, dingy smell to the whole hotel including our room. The bathroom seems a little updated, but the shower was barely big enough for me and I'm a small person. The dirtiness caused my to get an eye infection and my husband broke out in hives. And this was not a cheap hotel during out non-peak season visit so we were really upset. We asked the staff a few questions about the area and places to go during out trip however they were not too friendly. They even watched as my husband and struggled to get our bags up the many stairs you need to climb up before you get to an elevator, but didn't offer to help. The only good thing about this hotel is the location which is within walking distance to the Acropolis Museum, Acropolis itself, Zeus Temple as well as the other main attractions. Overall not worth the price for this hotel.

Cute hotel in a great location near to acropolis. The room was pretty small but very clean and the bed was super comfy. The shower room was mini but perfectly adequate for a few nights. Breakfast was pretty standard food but with nice fresh orange juice. We thought Donna on reception was hysterical with a dry sense of humour! We picked up a free local monthly magazine/guide from reception that turned out to have great little tips on less well known restaurants too, so keep an eye out for one of those.

We stayed in June 2011 but are only now catching up on our reviewing duties.

my value for the hotel is less than the one they charge per night. thats why they dont have personnel but only a receptionist, they dont have cafe or bar, and they ask from you to visit if you need something a shop in the near by area. rooms are not in a good condition, mattresses are ideal for back pain. the elevator starts from floor 1.5 and you have to carry your bags as the receptionists watches and laughs. Breakfast is unbelievable!!! Dont try it.

Room Tip: try another hotel

Location on a budget sums this hotel up really. We were lucky to get a family room for the two of us which meant it was a spacious room. No tea or coffee facilities, no mini bar. But you are in easy walking distance to all the tourist sites. Donna on the desk was helpful and the free breakfast had all the traditional elements as well as poached eggs and bacon. The apple pastries were yummy too! The beds were soft but we slept well regardless. The shower was dodgy and getting the right temp a bit hit and miss.
