My husband and I stayed here for a couple of nights & were very pleased with the friendly and helpful service from a young Australian girl who worked in reception, which we will never forget. Thanks.
The room we stayed in was very clean, comfortable and cosy...what more can we ask for??? Its location was excellent. Only a hop skip and a jump from everything, the Acropolis, Ermou etc.
We will be definately coming back next yr 2010
Cheers!!!

Very clean hotel, it was close to everything, the staff were very helpful with all my general inquiries- in particular the young girl at reception, it was a very pleasant environment and hope to stay there again in my travels.

THE PHONE DIDN'T WORK! And they would not fix it or move me to another room, even though I checked in early in the morning. It's hard to be alone in a hotel room with no phone to call reception if you need anything or have a question, and can't receive calls from family. It doesn't make sense to pay that much money for a room that has a broken phone, a broken TV, and an air conditioner that smells of dust if you turn it on. As well, I WAS PROMISED A CHANGE OF ROOMS, AND IT NEVER HAPPENED.

The strangest part was the older man at the front desk who must have been the owner, but who lied constantly (in addition to constantly hitting on me, and in the most condescending way). He lied about who he was, he lied about moving me, he lied about asking "the manager" for a rebate on my room rate, he lied about having the phone repaired, and he lied about calling a taxi to take me to the airport.

I asked him to call a taxi to take me to the airport. Instead, he called a friend of his who would come in "about an hour". Only after I made it clear that I don't want any funny business, just a normal taxi, did he call a real taxi for me. Then he told me the taxi had not yet arrived at the hotel, although it had been waiting for 5 minutes already. HE ALMOST MADE ME MISS MY PLANE.

It's an old building that has been marginally renovated into a hotel. In my opinion, I would have been better off paying 20 euros more and staying in a gorgeous hotel, like Melia Hotel or The Fresh Hotel, and not having problems.

We stayed two nights in the Acropolis Museum Hotel, separated by a three-day tour of Delphi and Meteora. Two different rooms with one having a better bath than the other. The first room had a sink that drained only very slowly (discovered late at night, otherwise we would have asked for another room) and the manager said he would see to fixing it after we left. Baths are small but serviceable. Hotel is on a busy street - don't try to keep the windows open at night unless you're used to traffic at all hours. On the other hand, it is convenient, just a short walk to the Acropolis and the Metro but not too many tavernas nearby (except for a few 2nd rate ones near the new museum). Use the metro to go to the Plaka area for food. They had a good breakfast that came with the room price. For the price, the hotel is a decent value.

We stayed one night at this hotel and it ticked all of our boxes. Warm and friendly reception, with great decor. You could tell this hotel was well looked after. We were very happy with our room, big comfortable bed, clean modern and compact bathroom. The hotel is walking distance (5mins) from the Acropolis and Plaka. Good value.

I had a lot of trouble picking a hotel in Athens. Seems like there are a few very expensive hotels with good reviews and then hundreds of mid-level hotels with average ratings. The Acropolis Museum Hotel falls into this category.

The lobby and the breakfast room are nice. There are computers with free Internet access for guests. The location is fine -- an easy walk to the Plaka and Acropolis. The metro and tram station is nearby. The immediate area is not that quaint, but then Athens in general is not that quaint of a city.

The room, of course, is small, but there was plenty of closet and drawer space. The bathroom was modern. The beds were small but the bedding was OK. There is a mini fridge. There was also a safe, but it was not bolted down so we did not use it.

There was the typical outside noise of motorcycles and honking horns, but with the window closed and the air conditioning on, it was not troublesome. Hallway and room-to-room noise was not bad.

Even though there is a small elevator, you have to walk up a flight of stairs to get to the lobby and then another flight to get to the elevator, so I would not recommend this hotel for anyone who has issues with stairs. And, as is the case in many smaller hotels, there is no help with the luggage, so you need to carry your own bags up the stairs.

The two women who worked at the front desk were very nice, the older man was not so helpful.

If you are on a budget, this hotel will do fine.
