“Acropolis Museum Hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 October 2009

In August I flew to Athens for eight days where I stayed at the neoclassical
style, newly refurbished Acropolis Museum Hotel and was treated like a
queen by the lovely, well spoken and very friendly Susie Minas and Donna and the
staff (I was immediately upgraded and lavished with care plus a pink
mosquito net! - no mosis thankfully), and it was so close ie a brief walk to the new
Acropolis museum and the Acropolis, a day cruise to Hydra Aegina and
Poros, all the sites and ruins and cafes and shopping. Wow!!! The
weather was white hot so the Acropolis was white on white. Bliss.

We stayed in room 104. Very small room, but nice for an overnight. Great proximity to the Acropolis and other attractions - all within a reasonable walking distance. Service is non-existent. The afternoon and early morning front desk attendants were completely indifferent. Once you have experienced the sights, we found that trying to actually sleep in the room was virtually impossible. The room overlooks one of the busiest streets in Athens that is host to never-ending traffic and motorcycles. To add to the street noise, you hear everything everyone else that is going on in the adjoining rooms. It sounds like a flood when a toilet is flushed. WOULD NOT stay here if you are looking for sleep or service.

The beds in the Acropolis Museum Boutique hotel are the best anywhere! The rooms are lovely and the staff are friendly and extremely helpful. The staff at the hotel helped make our trip to Greece very enjoyable.

We recieved very good advice on trips and things to do from the staff. Nothing was too much trouble including arranging special breakfast time and food late at night after arriving back from an excursion. Close to trains and buses and very close to the Acropolis and museums. Highly recommend the hotel and its staff.

We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights in July, and had a great experience. The room was beautifully decorated, with 16' ceilings, and an incredibly comfortable bed!

The staff were friendly and helpful, from the knowledgeable Aussie girl at the front desk, to the serving staff in the breakfast room who, although spoke little English, were very helpful, even when trying to use charades to express what we needed!

There was a good variety at breakfast, and they were sure to keep some stuff available when we slept in, and packed us a 'to go' bag when we had to leave early to catch our ferry.

There were two computers available with free internet to stay in touch.

The location is great - just a few blocks from the Acropolis, but be sure to walk down the street behind the hotel, instead of the busy main street in front - once we discovered that, the walk was much more enjoyable.

I would stay in this hotel again, and have recommended it to colleagues.
