Description: Three brothers with extensive business activities decided to join their forces and their passion and created an amazing tavern! A unique and very welcoming place with delicious traditional Greek cuisine that you will simply adore! Homemade food, delicious seafood and appetizers, along with a variety of grilled meat is what you will taste in "Dyo Dekares i Oka", as this cozy tavern is called. Its name means "two dimes an oca", with oca being an old mass measurement unit, and will take you to the past. The flavours will do the same, as they resemble of an old, experienced Greek housewife's way of cooking. Pure ingredients, rich spices and lots of imagination are shuffled daily to offer you original culinary experiences. As for the space? Simple, cozy and welcoming. With beautiful decorative details that will make you feel intimate, like if you ate at a friend's house. At the evening, live music makes the mood take off. People become one... they celebrate, they dance and sing, as only Greeks know how to do! Create memories and take them back home when you leave this country... Many smiles, kindness, delicious flavours and affordable prices are what you should expect from your visit at "Dyo Dekares i Oka" restaurant. And we're sure that if you ever come back in Greece, then you'll definitely come back to the tavern as well.

Well this restaurant was not on our list of places to visit. As this is a working vacation for my wife; the boys managed to finish off all the museums in a whole day with the guided tours at around 18h00. My wife's conference was really behind schedule, so we decided to wwit for her. One of the conference organisers recommended this location. So off we went at around 20h00 to eat!! For us Canadians and mostly our family,we are usually done eating at 19h00.
As we entered the front door, the owner showed us the daily specials. Eight dishes that looked one more delicious than the other. This reminds me of the old days when my dad would take us to the Greek restaurants in Montreal. What a flash back!!
My son ordered the chicken leg patatoe in the oven special. The chicken was perfectly cooked with lemon, oregano and olive oil. He has had this once or twice when grandma Katina has made it...he said it was better...richer taste but just right amount of all ingredients...I'm lucky my mom does not know how to use a computer We chose the half kilo lamb chops with french fries . The meat was just rightly grilled , hardly any fat and truly not gamey in taste. I mention gamey for the simple reason being that in Montreal, our lambs are from NZ or Quebec, and no matter how much time you may marinate the lamb it will have that taste.I am fussy with lamb but these chops were perfect. We all shared a tomatoe salad , toasted home bread, shared 1 half litre beer and 3 free bottled water for 31 euro before tip. Excellent service by our waitress who had a full house for a rainy night. The place is small but cozy and no rush. The same dishes would have cost us double and more in Montreal. At the end they oofered complimentary fruit or sweets, we were too full to accept thr gracious gesture. So far wev been lucky onthis Athens adventure. Coming up is the Greek Riviera, Vouliagmeni where I've had recommendations from taxi drivers to maids and even a player from the Greek National Basketball team.

Wonderful meal. So disappointed we found this place on our last night in Athens. The meal was one of the best after a month in Greece. Staff very accommodating, allowed me two half portions to try different dishes.

The serving lady is fantastic , but why does the food get all this amazing reviews? Even Mark Wiens vlogged in this place...food was not tasty, it was reheated so many times that it got a weird taste. I would not recommend this place.
If you do pay a visit, order from the menu, the daily dishes are not fresh and not tasty.
