High up the hill at the end of Kolonaki area (on the way to Lycabettus) doesn't provide an easy access and parking is even more difficult... Go by taxi or ...by motorcycle (as we did).
The inside of the restaurant reminded me of an old French style bistro, dusty, small but very cosy. I liked the wooden library and the special wine refrigerators...
The owner knows about wine and the food is real and authentic Italian. The prices are extremely high for the times (and the country)... Fortunately there are special menus on offer (weekdays) including wine!
We went on a special Friday menu 35 euros pp with 1 bottle of prosecco for 2 and the food was really tasty, plenty and of a good quality. The owner (who also serves) is very polite and helpful. He asked us if we wanted water (bottled), which means it was chargeable, we said "yes", but we didn't know it was 6 euros for 1 bottle (plain local). This was a foul!
Other than that everything was fine! Nice breads and home-made foccacia, also homemade pumpkin gnocci (a treat), prawns in spicy tomato sauce, black squid risotto, sole on a beans' puree (with sweet garlic and mushrooms) and little rooster stuffed with cabbage and Tuscan sausage served with polenta and spinach... Lemon semifreddo and strawberry sorbet with fresh strawberries for dessert!
We paid exactly 76 euros for a romantic (and complete) dinner for two.
