“Disapointed by the museum.”
Reviewed 22 August 2014

The museum is a thematic museum only about acropolis with a few art pieces. The design is too cold and the environment very austere. The staff of the museum are very strict about photos. Despite the signs in the most areas photos are permitted. Check the museum site for further details.

“I will definetely visit it again!!!!”
Reviewed 22 August 2014

Even if it was extremely overcrowed, the object exposed are unique. I would also like to note that the staff of the museum was very helpful giving as information about the everything we asked. Unfortunately, the shop of the museum was very poor. We found the restaurant very expensive but I have to admit that it has a breathtaking view!

“Compliments a visit to the Acropolis”
Reviewed 21 August 2014

Very well done as a supplement to a visit to the Acropolis. More detail available here in an excellent presentation. Remains of the old city are presented through glass floors....also cleverly done.

“One of best in Greece”
Reviewed 21 August 2014

As great as this museum is, having a cool Freddo Expresso in the cafe on a hot day is a great way to rest after scaling the rock. Or better yet, wait for your visitors on the rock and enjoy the view, A/C, and beverages in a great restaurant.

“Go here before you go to the site!”
Reviewed 21 August 2014

This is a great museum, especially if you go before heading to Acropolis. I highly recommend going to the museum before going to the Acropolis because you'll get the history and be able to understand what you're looking at when at the Acropolis. There is a 5 minute video on the 2nd floor that gives you the history of how the temple was built and what has happened to it since then. Start there! I had no idea Acropolis was a mosque for a short time when Turkey occupied Greece! You can make it through the entire museum in around 1.5 hours so it's not something that will suck up your entire day.
