A must-see for museum enthusiasts. Very impressive and nicely done. You could spend an entire day here - would highly recommend.

We spent a very interesting morning at the museum, it spread over 4 floors. There were alot of groups in the museum, but didn't really bother us.

Museum had lots of historical monuments. But it does not offer audio devices to explain the context of the display to the historical significance. It houses many interesting stories that you need to make an effort to read. This is a good precursor before the climb up the acropolis.

We used a private guide, who is an archeologist and this made the visit a great experience. At the present time the government has run out of funds for digs, so there are unemployed archeologists all over Greece working as guides. A great advantage for tourists who are history buffs. Many originals from the Acropolis have been moved to the museum in order to prevent further deterioration and all are well presented. Not to be missed!

Try the rooftop cafe with great views - reasonable prices and ok service. And a chance to sit and relax before the next museum.

You should visit Acropolis museum if in Athens. Has an energy that you cannot compete. Is located opposite of the Parthenon giving to the area an amazing view.

One of the most important museums of the world. All the splendor of the greek antique art and civilization presented in a modern setting. On the top transparent floor, one of the most inspired museographical solutions: the original Parthenon sculptures that remain in Greece, together with copies of the stolen Elgin marbles currently exhibited in the British Museum, offer a complete and comprehensive view of the ensemble, and all that in a direct visual dialogue with the real monument of the Parthenon in close proximity. Also: interesting temporary exhibitions, nice shop, good restaurant with reasonable prices and nice view to the Acropolis, easy access just close to the metro.

What an amazing museum. It truly brings the Acropolis to life. The museum is modern and displays so many of the art and archaeological finds.

The coffee shop offers a welcome break and the museum shops sells the most interesting books.

I was skeptical about this museum, with its modern lines stark against the ruins of the Acropolis but I was so sorely mistaken as this was an absolutely wonderful companion to walk through after walking through the Acropolis complex. It is set up to lay out many of the ruins in the way they would have been a part of the buildings. It’s a focused and beautiful building.
