“Presentation reins supreme”
Reviewed 18 February 2014 via mobile

The food here is good, very good. However the presentation is even better setting the expectations very high. Best dishes were the black cuttle fish risotto and the salmon tartar. The sea bream deserves mention as does the nut cake.

“Nothing special”
Reviewed 31 January 2014

It rained really bad the night we went there and the roof seemed not to hold the pressure, so drops started to come over the table :) The food was fusion. The starters were pretty good, but the main dishes weren't outstanding.

“A very good pretentious overpriced Athenian restaurant”
Reviewed 10 January 2014

The title may say a lot but not all.
We appreciated the fact that the restaurant had enough waiters and relatively prompt service.
The menu list is very short and includes post-modern evolutions of Greek dishes.
High quality ingredients, great taste and large portion sizes. We appreciated all those.
What we did not appreciate was the pretentious ambiance and etiquette, the exaggerated design and the high prices. Typical to Athenian restaurants that try to stand out is to add glamour by having high prices. Not appreciated though. Athens, even next to Hilton, is not Paris or London.
I would certainly return on a special occasion or for a business meal but certainly not for a casual family dinner.

“Delicious food!”
Reviewed 6 January 2014

Since they changed their chef and they hired Periklis Koskinas, the ex chef of Milos, Alatsi succeeded in becoming one of the top athenian restaurants. The "athinaiki salata" (boiled fish with potatoes, carrots and home made mayonnaise), the fried sea bream (again served with their delicious mayonnaise), the dolmades (stuffed wine leaves) and chocolate mousse are not to be missed. For the quality of the food I find the rates quite reasonable.
