Such an amazing place!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This had been our second stay at Aquis Bella Beach and again we couldn't fault it!! Both my gorgeous boyfriend and I loved every minute of it :) We stayed both times for just a week but would have happily stayed longer!

We were looking for a holiday which would have a mixture of relaxation and a good nightlife but not right on our doorstep as we didn’t want it to be too manic. Staying here was the perfect choice, the beach is gorgeous, we hired out quad bikes and was able to travel around to other beaches near Hersonissos and into the main town which when traveling by taxi only took 10 mins, the quad bikes are so much fun and there is also the options of water sports here as well!! Star Beach is a great place to visit; lots of activities... would recommend the paragliding, so much fun!! Lively atmosphere, music, pool bars and loads of opportunities to chill out in the sun!!

The hotel is stunning; there are gym facilities which that boyfriend loved! The pool is always immaculate and the beach is just a step away! The staff are real characters, so friendly and approachable! They couldn’t have done anymore to make us feel welcome, hence why we came back a second time round! And I would not hesitate to come back again and again and again!! With this hotel - they have paid attention to all the smaller things that make such a big difference - the presentation for everything would be 5*.

The hotel had changed a lot since our first visit, the bridge across the pool, another pool bar had been added and the inside one had been modernized to make it more spacious! I had considered it pretty much perfect when we first stayed but this made the world of difference this time! This just goes to show how the staff at this hotel are so conscious and aware of improving their standards constantly - they have defiantly achieved this!!

The animation team are so lively, beware of Regis! They are all so friendly, always wanting to get others involved in their activies and entertainment! They wore us both out just watching them - so full of energy!

I wanted to say a massive thank you to the staff at Aquis Bella Beach for making every minutes of our holiday worthwhile and so enjoyable!! Popi, Georgio and Sofia were so lovely and even remembered us from before which was a bonus! They were such a laugh and were so kind to us.Rurak - who was only new to the hotel made such an impression on us both! He was so kind and such a gentleman, he welcomed us to our room and throughout the holiday was always checking we were enjoying our stay - he was absolutely lovely!!

All in all I would highly recommend Aquis Bella Beach! It is stunning! I hope my review has helped persuade you and if so - Have an amazing time!! Take care and happy Holiday-ing :)

Accomodation rooms good and daily cleaned to a very good standard all rooms close to beach pool, resturants.Room was quiet with good air con.
Lovely pool plenty of sunbeds with more on the beach just 1 minute away.Bar area outside very nice but on chilly evenings the indoor area lacked in comfort and atmosphere. All Staff very nice and friendly Enterainment staff very good, mainly French but able to talk very good english Some may say a bit over the top in there encouragement for you to partisipate in there games and dances but I feel with just me and the wife there, we sometimes needed that involvment you can always find a quiet corner to read your book.A lot of Guests were French in Large groups but on the good side there were no towels on the sunbeds at 8am which made a change from those others who by the way were next door.
All inclusive very good, top brand drinks extra but Sminnroff was free ,Food very nice lots of choice but I found the buffet style of eating became a little boring towards the end of our weeks stay and my body could not take much more abuse. We had 2 days of rain and felt the surrounding area was unattractive went to Iraklion on the local ( a 20 min walk to the bus stop.)Did not like Iraklion Goods can be brought in England for less and the city lacks any charm or character you would find in Italy.
Overall we enjoyed our stay would certainly consider returning with family or friends Its very nice but this world has a lot to see so only a bargain price would tempt me back

We stayed at the Aquis Bella Beach mid May 2010; I was really pleased and thank other Trip Advisor correspondents for their unfailing guidance on hotels. We had to wait six months to get this hotel because when I discovered it for the first time (on T.A.) they were fully booked, the wait was worth while. Why would you question a hotel with such an obvious tilt towards excellent on feedback?? Yes, of course you can’t please all people all the time, but it’s pretty obviously safe with the “imbalance” of very good + excellent.

I will be totally honest, the stay started badly when my wife and I were escorted to room 301 – we had booked a sea view, I didn’t think this room was a sea view, although its on the end of the block of which the majority of rooms were “sea front” you could not see the see from that rooms patio, you had to venture onto the (well cut) grass of the garden to see the sea, we didn’t get moved BUT we weren’t going to let that spoil our holiday and it didn’t.

I took on board the comment from the correspondent who said you have to pay for the room safe – so this wasn’t a shock. Out and about cost of food and drink slightly shocked us, 25E for a light lunch, 7E for coffee and coke, but it’s been three years or more since we holidayed in Europe. Back at the hotel, no such problem being AI, it was early season and the beach bar was never open, but that’s not a bad thing as the pool bar is only a little further stroll into the property.

I’d wondered what several T.A. reviewers had meant with comments about the property, but as soon as our transport dropped us at the front of the hotel I knew – it isn’t gold gilt and statues; it’s plain, simple and almost less is more.
We never tried the al-la-carte, we didn’t have to, the AI buffet had plenty of well cooked choice – yes, at the end of the week it was a bit much of a muchness, but when you are presented with such a choice seven days a week you know you want beans on toast by the end of it!

The hotel is “off the beaten track” (if that means away from the main Hersonissos to Heraklion road) but 15 minutes walk gets you there. On the beach side of the property, there is a route (left and right) that takes you along the beach front to other hotels, local bars, shops and villages – it’s actually a very nice walk either way. We noticed that the Bella Beach was one of about four hotel beaches that were “sharp” sand with good access into the sea – fantastic for summer, not so inviting in May when the sea hasn’t warmed up.

The animation team were great, they never stopped working and although we never took part, they always took time to stop and talk and always asked if we wanted to join in the many and varied activities they had going on throughout the day and into the night. There were lots of French guests, yeah, I know what you think is coming next, but we’re all humans – they were noisy but actually friendly and very entertaining to people watchers like us. No sun bed reservation problems the week we were there so I guess another EU country weren’t guests! One point I’d pick up with other reviewers, although there seem to be a lot of French guests my opinion is that the hotel can’t be going all out to encourage this as several of the staff didn’t speak French – I think they have just picked up that it’s a great hotel.

The staff of the hotel were absolutely fantastic, from reception, the guest liaison manager, the bar, dining room, room maids to name anyone would be unfair, but they all made our stay so wonderfully comfortable and make the hotel what it is.

We recognised that the hotel and surrounding area would be perfect to take my wife’s elderly parents on holiday to, the fact that there was a group of English with two elderly folk in wheel chairs who like us, came to the hotel and recognised it was perfect for the not-so young or infirm so returned with their parents. We will most certainly go back either at the end of this season or beginning of next, for this reason. In eleven years of 5 star AI hotels (aprox 18 different holidays around the world), this is the very first time we’ve said we’ll go back so soon, so if that doesn’t tell you how good our holiday was nothing will. We thoroughly recommend this hotel for your holiday, you will not be disappointed.

The hotel Aquis Bella Beach lived up to all our expectations, very well appointed room which was spotless. The food was excellent with a good variation each day. The staff were very helpfull. The hotels relations manager was so helpfull. There were plenty of activities run by the animation team and good entertainment at night. We enjoyed the hotels spa facilities. The hotel was well appointed just next to the beach, never very far to walk for a drink! We would definately go back. Nowhere were we warned that this hotel had a Club atmosphere. The Animation team worked very hard but this was not to our taste.Their noise continued morning, noon and night as they exhorted us to participate. At the end of the holiday when our flight was at 0330, we had to vacate rooms by noon. We tried to book an extra night at an agreed price. Checking the day before, the price had gone up considerably. To escape the noise, we ended up dozing our hire car in the car park.
Apart from this, we had an excellent holiday.

Our party of 14 ranged from my 2year old son to my grandparents aged 83 & 85. The hotel and facilities were great. They managed to ensure all of our rooms were together, the food was good with a different theme each night. The animation team were good and kept us all entertained for the whole fortnight, and Sofia behind the poolbar was fantastic, knowing what everyone of us drank within a couple of days.

The entertainment in the evening was ok, but the animation team are mostly French, and the entertainment was sometimes lost on our party as it related to French music/tv etc.

We can't wait to go back again

From the moment we arrived we were made welcome. All the staff we met were friendly and helpful both about the hotel facilities and about trips away from the hotel we wanted to arrange ourselves. There was a wide choice of enjoyable food at all meal times. The bar was open until 11 pm each day. Even though we had to check out at midday on our last day we were not due to be picked up until 1 a.m. the following morning for a 3.30 a.m. flight. The hotel sttaff made towels and a room available for anyone who needed to freshen up around 6/7 p.m. Aquis Hotels and Resorts can be proud of the high level of service provided by their staff
