Pitho provided for a perfect stay in Delphi. Owner George was friendly and helpful. The hotel location is excellent; 5 minute walk from the bus station, surrounded by restaurants and shops, 20 minute walk to the archaeological site entrance. The room was comfortable, spotlessly clean, and quiet, with all appropriate amenities. The ambience was like staying in someone's very nice home, with a beautiful private room and bath. George also serves a great breakfast, with (we think) the best yogurt in Greece. Pitho epitomizes the small, family-owned hotel: charming and friendly, with modern comfort and convenience.

We stayed at the Pitho Rooms for only one night and it was our first visit to Greece and Delphi, but George the owner made us feel like old friends! He and his wife are just extremely hard-working, friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a great location in town, and has a bar, nice breakfast and clean comfortable rooms. We had a room at the back, so there was no view but for only one night it was fine. If I were to stay longer, I'd for sure want a front room with a balcony. Otherwise, perfect! Thanks George and Vicky!

After one night at a poor hotel, we walked into Pitho one evening to see their availability. Amazingly, they had one room available at a very reasonable rate. The owners were extremely friendly (one of the best we've seen in Europe), great room and view, very clean, good wireless internet in main area (he's working on getting another router for room level above). Excellent breakfast in the am (included in our rate); fresh bread, jams, yogurt, cereal, cold cuts, cheese, juices, milks, espresso/cappuccino/coffee to order! Leaps and bounds the best deal in Delphi with excellent service to match. I would recommend this hotel to anyone!

The hotel is very good situated, near the shops, tabernas, archeological sites and museums, but in a very quiet area. The owners George and Vicky are very kindly, always care of you. A very very good service. The rooms are clean.

We only have one thing to say: THANK YOU VERY MUCH, GEORGE AND FAMILY!!

This review involves a story, but I'll make it brief.

I'll start with the hotel. We had a great room, clean with a nice balcony overlooking the street. It was a quick walk to the main attractions of Delphi. Our first day there we found the archaeological site closed as it was election day. We decided to head to a water-side town for dinner instead. Unfortunately, we stayed there too long and ended up leaving just as it was getting dark.

This is not a good idea for people who are lacking a night of sleep and are on their first day in Greece. We ended up driving to Desfina instead of Delfi, and then stupidly trusted our GPS to get us back on track. The end result was that we were stranded on a dirt road in the middle of nowhere at 11 pm, with our car stuck on some metal spokes. And the only soul we knew in Greece? Our wonderful hotel owner George.

He was so worried he called us every 20 minutes, then drove out in teh middle of the night in hopes of finding us, which he eventually did. All I can say is, thank god for kind people when you are traveling! He not only picked us up, but arranged for roadside service to help us the next day. And then gave us breakfast after we came back from rescuing the car.

This place is definitely a find, I'm pretty sure that no one else can match their service. Thanks again, George!

This was an excellent choice. The room was large, quiet and comfortable, with effective air-conditioning, and I slept well. Breakfast was excellent (the warm, freshly baked bread especially), and the owners (who both speak good English - even their children know a few words ) were as helpful and friendly as you could wish. I'll be going back to Delphi next year, and if they've got a free room I'll certainly stay at the Pitho again.

The hotel has a small bar on the first floor where you can have a whisky, and there's a souvenir shop downstairs with the only good "long" postcards that I found in Delphi.

If you're lucky and arrive at the right time you may find somewhere to park opposite the hotel. Otherwise, you'll have to park about a hundred and fifty yards away, near the taxi rank. This is the same for all the hotels on the main street in the centre of Delphi.

One warning. In Delphi there's also a Hotel Pythia, which is different, but which local people may send you to if your Greek pronunciation is dodgy. The Pitho is pronounced piTHO. It's a few yards down from the Emporiki Bank and the Post Office, opposite the Epikouros Restaurant.
