“Quiet and Stately”

There is a serenity to the Kouros that struck us immediately on our arrival. The hotel is tastefully decorated, with original paintings and antiques throughout the common areas. We were welcomed with a bouquet of roses in our room. The room itself was spacious and airy, with a balcony that overlooked the dramatic mountains, with a glimpse of Itea and the bay in the distance. We were within walking distance of the Archeological Museum and the site itself, as well as the shops (bakeries, fruit markets, galleries, antique and souvenir) and the plentiful restaurants of Delphoi. Parking was easy on both streets. The proprietors were friendly, helpful, and welcoming. We'd highly recommend the Kouros.

What a QUAINT, clean absolutely LOVELY hotel situated in Delphi! The hotel in which we initially were going to stay... got to the door and it was all closed up (for the season???? and no mention of this on their website!) last month (November 2013). We were disappointed. Drove into "town" and happened across this hotel and were so glad that we didn't get to stay in the one in which we planned. The lady who met us at the door on that fateful cold rainy evening was a welcome relief; trying to accommodate us. We fell in love with the feel as we entered our room, the wood board ceiling with a beautiful center light and after we stopped being transfixed of how lovely and bright and inviting our accommodation was... noticed towels lovingly packaged with a satin orange ribbon--such a sweet "touch." Our room offered stunning views of the mountainside beyond the adorable little village in which it was situated. We would recommend without any reservation this peaceful, desirably located hotel in Delfi/Delphi, just moments down the street from THE ARCHAEOLOGICAL SITE!

Hotel Kouros is a great choice if you want to stay in Delphoi. The museum and the archaelogical place is close to the hotel and can be accesed on foot (1km far). The room was warm enough, clean and also equipped with A/C, but not very roomy. The hotel had no parking area but you can easily find one.The breakfast was sufficient and the owners were friendly!

Delphi is a tiny town and the hotel is located on one of its “main streets”, right to many other hotels and restaurants. Our room faced the street but we didn’t have any noise problems. The walk from the hotel to the temple of Apolllo will take you about 20 minutes. The hotel doesn’t have its own parking but you can park for free right outside on the street. The room itself was ok and pretty clean. We found the bed EXTREMLY hard and narrow; also the bathroom is in a serious need for an upgrade. We did enjoy the nice view of the mountains from the hotels roof and the free wi-fi. The breakfast was just ok and we had better during our stay in Greece.

Rooms in this hotel are rustic but equipment is a bit too old, especially the bathroom, where shower needs an urgent renewal. Location is in the hearth of the small town, and restaurants are just outside the door. This also causes rooms to be very noisy at night. Breakfast is served in the hall but it consists of few choice and just sweets. Drinks are upon request, there's no self-service for them. Wi-fi connection is available but it's very fair.

Pretty much all the hotels in Delphi are non descript. Lots of marble floors etc. This hotel had entrances on both sides of the street, upper (3 floors up) and lower. Close to lots of restaurants. Quiet, clean. What makes this one excel is the amazing breakfast. Most hotels in Greece, for the added 5E breakfast, it's Nescafe instant coffee and bread, maybe OJ. Not this hotel. I think his capuccino maker alone was $1500. Bread, eggs, fruit, yogurt, honey etc. Fantastic. All in a very nice atmosphere.

We stayed at hotel Kouros for one night in late March, and we liked the hotel very much. It's a small budget hotel but it is clean, and with friendly service - really all we needed for a one-night stay on a long road trip. We had a room with a small balcony, like I think all other rooms, overlooking the street, with a beautiful mountain view. Dimitris, the owner, was nice enough to allow us to make changes (of the arrival date) to our otherwise non-changeable reservation made through Booking.com. The archaeological site is a short drive away and could be a good walk if weather is good. The hotel doesn't offer diner and we found the restaurants in Delphi to be too touristy so we drove to Arachova which is only 20 minutes away to the east and we were so glad that we did - what a lovely little town where you can have some nice local food and spend a couple of hours walking around!

Given the price we paid (50 Euro), there was really nothing to complain about. The only caution you may need to have is that there is no shampoo provided so you will need to bring your own.

Room Tip: ask for a top floor room for better view
