The Arachova (a Greek village) supposed to be a mystery land of Delphi where Pythia supposed to predict the future. The site consists of ruins and a museum. The fee is 9 Euros and the tour company pays it. It takes 3 hours from Athens to get to. After arriving, the tour of the ruins takes about an hour and another hour for the museum. In addition, one can see the scenic outskirts of Athens. The drive is pleasant and interesting. It will be an interesting experience if one wants to learn about history of Greece

We visited the museum with a guide, which I highly recommend. The place is well done, and having a guide especially brought it to life. We went before going to the ruins, which is how I would definitely recommend doing it. It was so helpful to be able to see how it was first and then to visit the ruins.

In fact, we went to the museum in the morning and then the ruins in the evening, and it was nice to have the break between the two.

Delphi has so much history and so few stones left standing that visiting the museum before (and again after if you have time) the site is a plus and helps you imagine the splendor once on site. It is well explained in Greek, English and French, well designed and a necessary complement.
Don't miss the painting by Tournaire at the beginning: a reconstitution of how rich the site was.

We visited after 4pm (it's open until 8pm) and the great thing is, there was no more tours to clutter the rooms.

The museum is in a modern build. Visit it helps to understand a lot of what Delphi was. A good colection of ancient pieces from the site of Delphi.
