Can't believe we are back in cloudy England! We arrived last Sunday and had a fantastic time in Aquis Blue Marine in Crete.
The hotel was perfect! We checked in on the first day of season, had a very warm welcome followed with drinks and snacks.
We booked a room with a sea view, which I would recommend for its breathtaking view, I think the back rooms have a view to a wall!!So definetely worth it, the balcony is huge you can just sit there at night enjoying the view..
The hotel is also very clean throughout wherever you go, the maids make your room daily and can supply fresh towels if you require. You might want to take your toiletries as we had just liquid soap in the shower.
There was a safe inside the wardrobe which was free of charge at least at this time we stayed there, because in some reviews people said they had to pay. TV channels are not great, not so many options, but who wants to watch TV when sun is shining out there?!
The pool area is great, lots of chairs, umbrellas, bar and the waitress were brilliant! The pool was quite cold, because summer just started and salty water!
Now about the food, we loved it! Everyday there was some different, of course some days you note the same salads, desserts, but the choice is huge. If I have to complain about the food I would say that it was a bit cold for my liking...When we arrived because there were just about 30 of us we had a la carte lunch and dinner but after 2 days, more guests started to arrive then it was all buffet. The serving times are great especially lunch until 3.30. Beer, soft drinks, coffee, teas and some cocktails and spirits were free in all inclusive and ice cream all day by the pool plus some finger snacks.
To be honest I ate so much put on weight and I'm now struggling with my diet!
The staff are all very friendly, speak English and are there to help you anytime.
When you get all inclusive remember to book one dinner or lunch at the Panorama Restaurant which is so nice and posh look! The menu is really nice and give some nice options for you to try.
The beach in front of the hotel is nice but we didn't stay there, we prefered to drive to Almyros Beach. The hotel is about 15 minutes drive to Agios Nikolaos, which is really worth a visit such a cute town! If you hire a car there are some nice little towns you can visit but would recommend you go a bit far to spend the day at Vai Beach the only palm beach in Europe.
We got the car for the whole week which to be honest was not necessary as we really loved staying at the hotel. There is also an Animation group of young people, they were very busy planning activities for the coming months, they are all very sweet we had a great time with them.
So if you are going to Crete and want to have a great time don't hesitate with Blue Marine, my husband and I totally recommend!
Hope our review was helpful and enjoy your stay!
