“Absolutely Brilliant!”
Reviewed 29 June 2010

My husband and I stayed at the hotel with our two kids (6 & 8) for a week on 13 June. We booked last minute through Viva Travel and i was a bit worried about what we might find. Well what a waste it was worrying! Everything from check-in to check-out was wonderful and it is honestly one of the best holidays we have had. We arrived around 12.30am and were promptly given a glass of orange as we checked in. Reception kindly asked the couple in front of us if they would mind if they checked us in first as we had young kids which was very good of them. We were allocated a 1st floor room but asked for a higher one - absolutely no trouble at all. There was a meal in the room and bottle of water within 5mins of us getting to the room - and it was nice and fresh. We had a deluxe family room which was spotlessly clean and great for the kids to have their own room. It was cleaned daily and all staff were helpful and friendly. The animation team were the best i have ever met - i normally hate that sort of thing but you couldnt help but get involved as they were very nice and enthusiastic - yet NEVER pushy. Ghuna at the kids club was brilliant and the kids loved her. The shows and the games were fantastic and even my husband joined in! We all had such fun. Other guests were so nice and friendly which i wonder if it is because it is a very international hotel - not just brits abroad!
The food was lovely, never any shortage - we did not try the alacarte as there really didnt seem any point.
The hotel is a bit out of the way - though good bus link to local town. This suited us - we wanted a relaxing week. We would definately recommend to others - it i one of the best places we have stayed and very good value for money.

We (two families: 4 adults and 2 kids) stayed in Aquis for 10 days and absolutely loved it: food was fantastic (for every taste, great variety); rooms were nice and comfortable; hotel staff is very helpful and very very nice; animation team is absolutely brilliant: not too pushy and very very entertaining! We didn’t take part in all the activities during the day, but evening shows were amazing: absolutely loved it!!! Thumbs up for animation team!
You can find anything for yourself during the day from stretching/darts/football/games to disco. Kid’s club is really really good and Guna is fantastic. My son absolutely loved the disco and kid’s room. In short, I can say that we loved staying in Blue Marine and definitely coming back. Thank you very much!!!!!!!

Booked this Holiday last minute for a quick get away and absolutely made up with the hotel, staff and resort in general. Firstly the views are breathtaking and rooms are very clean and tidy everything is spottless. The Hotel staff were all very friendly and couldnt do enough for you made some good friends as the whole place is very sociable and bar staff and entertainment team the best iv ever seen!!
Although the hotel is slightly out of the way from the main town of Agios Nikolaos it really doesnt matter, there are so many facilities and activities all day and night we hardly left poolside lol,but it is only a short taxi or bus ride to the main town which is also beautiful with lots of bars restaurants and shops.
Iv been on quite a few all inclusives and this was by far the best , there is so much choice on the buffet i think i put a stone on in a week, and its deffinately worth going to the a la carte restaurant it really is a 5 star experience and probably the best hotel iv stayed in in Europe... in fact it deffinately is . Would deffinatey go back to this Hotel !!

Just spent a week with husband from 8th to 15th June. I booked it one week before with Travelzoo (Viva Tours and Travel) and paid only £339 each per week all inclusive with flights and coach transfers included. The transfer was extremely comfortable and efficient and took around one and a half hours. We paid only £5 each for this each way so it was great value - only 9 of us on an empty coach and six of us went to the Aquis Blue Marine. Without exception we all loved it and had a great week away. I think a cab one way is around 50 euros. Don't want to sound tight but we do love a bargain and this definitely was. It was excellent and the husband was amazed when we arrived and he saw the glass lifts up to reception - I think he was expecting some sort of prison cell and was dreading where I was taking him! We had a room at the back which suited us as we were knackered before we went (although it is not too noisy at the front and the view is indeed beautiful). However we didn't meet one person with a sea view room who had sat on their terrace as everyone is by the pool all day every day! We still had a sizeable and quiet terrace where we could sit and have a drink or read. Met some really terrific people ranging from early twenties to sixties (we are 48) and had an absolute ball - we all congregated at the terrace bar and George the barman was great albeit flat out. Animation team are super and really go out of their way to suit everybody's needs - we didn't want to join in but they asked us only once each day and respected our wishes to be left out of competitions etc. and still stopped by for a chat each day. No pressure and they were always very friendly and charming. I was looking forward to karaoke and bingo but they were cancelled by popular demand as people wanted to see the world cup footie on a big screen so they went out of their way to arrange this and made sure there was a party atmosphere - hats off to them for being flexible and giving the majority of guests what they wanted. Quite a lot of English people actually - more than I was expecting - but no lager louts. Nobody seemed to be drinking alcohol in the day although it was freely available - we saved ourselves for a few in the evening. The white wine available with meals was very nice but not so the red. Cocktails are limited - not the variety or strength you would get in the Caribbean but we still managed to get trollied unintentionally on two nights out of seven. As my husband is always very busy and doesn't have a lot of time for holidays (or the inclination) I was interested to see if I would feel comfortable returning to this hotel on my own and the answer is definitely yes. I would feel quite safe and confident that I would meet people and wouldn't have any concerns about safety or security. We met a lady on our second night who had travelled out on her own and was a bit nervous - introduced her to the crowd and she was off and away having a whale of a time. Would highly recommend this hotel for the money we paid. Food was fine - obviously not gourmet but terrific value for money - all in all it would have cost us far more to go self catering for a week. Also included in the price for the week was one night at the gourmet restaurant. People complained that they had to wait 45 minutes for their starter so we booked our table at the 7.30 opening - no problem with waiting and very attentive staff. Food was again fine but not out of this world. There was a great breakfast every day to suit all tastes and plenty to choose from at lunch and dinner with a terrific range of salads every day and plenty of meat and fish. When we did get a bit bored which I think you do in any all inclusive we went to the sandy beach 15 mins walk when you turn left out of the hotel and had a great club sandwich and fries for lunch. The sunbeds were free as they had run out of receipts (the blue beds in the middle outside the Taverna) so really the saving there covered our lunch. Took the bus into Agios twice - 1.40 euros each and it arrived bang on time was air conditioned ad very comfortable with the bus stop directly opposite the hotel. Not so easy to catch the bus back although we did manage it - it is hard to find the bus stop and last but is at 9.15pm but a cab back is a set fare of 9 euros. Room service was marvellous with our room being thoroughly cleaned and tidied every day and fresh towels provided. When we left the Do Not Disturb sign out they popped a note through the door to say they would come and clean later if we wanted it if we just dialled housekeeping. Didn't try the Spa as I thought it was rather expensive. I live in Eastbourne and the prices were on a par with the five star Grand Hotel in Eastbourne. I wouldn't rate this hotel 5 stars in all honesty - I would say 4 stars but if you can get a cheap late deal it really is terrific. I would give this hotel ten out of ten for price presentation effort and spirit of the staff and would definitely go again. Husband is not one for holidays but he had such a great time he wants to go again in September! You can do what you want here really - have a quiet time by yourself or join in and meet some wonderful people - really very versatile. Just remembered that there is free Internet Access in the lobby to the right of reception desk so this was very good too.

We went to Aquis so daughter could revise for exams without any interruptions and this was just a great location for us - even her Blackberry didn't work. Ian Karen & Lucy had just the most fantastic holiday - everywhere was clean and the staff were great. Would also highly recommend the aromatherapy massage - just slept like a log after that!! Now for the 'Animation Team' - what a great bunch - even Karen had to join in (the one who usually just lays in the sun with a book) French Bowls with Aurelio, Aqua cise with Mario and cocktail games with the whole troop. Not forgetting the darts of course!! see you again.....

We travelled to this hotel for our honeymoon after the journey we arrived at the hotel to a warm welcome and quick check in, our bags were taken to our room for us which left us just to relax. We also were brought wine and roses with a fruit basket as it was our honeymoon. The hotel is defiantly 5 stars and so so clean with the best range of fresh food for breakfast lunch and dinner I have seen. Drinks on the all inclusive were great with a nice choice and bar staff couldn’t have been nicer. The hotel also has access to a beach via a lift down from the hotel car park; the beach was clean with many sun beds so there was no need to rush down with the towels. In the evening there is a lovely bar with outdoor terrace with gorgeous modern furniture and the best views over the sea and mountains. I couldn’t have been more honest with my review it was by far one of the best hotels I have stayed in abroad for the money.

We have just returned from a most relaxing week at this hotel. We found all the staff and animation team friendly and helpful. We were gently encouraged to participate in the poolside activities but with no pressure and we were impressed by their enthusiasm for their work.

Room was clean and comfortable and although our balcony faced the 'wall' at the rear, we decided this did not matter as we did not intend to spend much time in our room!

The pool area was also very clean and there was little difficulty in finding a sunbed (although we did get up before 11 a.m!!)

Dining room and food was good and we were never hungry.

Would recommend this hotel and will possibly try others in the Group at a later date.
