Very disappointed having read the reviews - rooms and the hotel itself were very much 5 star but the food and service in the restaurant and bar was very disappointing. Room service and the cafe on the beach were better.

Dear Guest,
I would like to thank you for your comments as it is a pleasure to receive constructive feedback, which we may utilize in an effort to further develop the resort and establish its brand awareness globally. We are happy to see your positive comments regarding our rooms & the hotel in general which is the cap stone to our efforts of spending significant monetary resources recruiting employees with International experience.
We honor ourselves for catering to different needs which is why the resort offers nine theme nights, specifically chosen by our gastronomic team to satisfy our esteemed clients who are accommodated on a 10 night rolling basis. Every single gastronomic night in the main restaurant offers a variety of 45 dishes out of which 10 are for vegetarians. In order to further enhance the variety we have specifically chosen Mediterranean tastes such as:
1. Italian night with a variety of pasta dishes,
2. Arabian night with an array of Middle Eastern tastes,
3. Spanish night featuring paellas,
4. Grill night with meat & fish courses,
5. French night
6. Greek Traditional night,
7. Cretan night with local delicacies,
8. Fish night with a variety of fresh fish, seafood & shellfish,
9. International night featuring different cultures dishes
Our Italian restaurant firstly operated on 2011, following the concept of “Italian creative cuisine” and received great critiques. In a continuous effort of upgrading our services, we designed a menu in compliance with the latest gastronomic trends in Europe were clients enjoy Italian dishes with a French twist. The menu is designed and executed by our Italian chef who was recruited from a two stars Michelin restaurant and has extensive culinary experience from France, Italy and the UK.
The Greek restaurant has started its operation as such in the beginning of 2011 with the concept of “Greek creative cuisine”. Its creation derived from our will to offer upscale service in conjunction with fresh gastronomic flavors and to achieve this we have recruited a well-known Greek Chef specializing on renowned Cretan recipes. Since its beginning, it has been receiving daily excellent comments on the cuisine and service experience. Two theme nights (“Greek” & “Lobster”) are offered featuring table service & several typical Greek culinary delicacies. I am sure you’ve noticed that the experience is completed with customers choosing from an array of meat delicacies displayed on trimmed ice, subsequently cooked and served a la minute.
Raw materials utilized are of top quality in all restaurants. The hotel is certified with the system of Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), which guarantees the cooking techniques and temperatures as well as the cooking process. HACCP calls for a process of First In, First Cooked basis, in order to ensure that all vitamins, minerals & nutrients are kept firm and fresh.
As every five star resort, we have certain tools to help us serve clients more efficiently. One of this is the daily Duty Management according to which a member of the hotel's management is on Duty, available to all guests and at the same time this person is contacted for any challenge that could occur. At the end of their shift a log is completed. Exactly the same procedure is followed with the Guest Relations and the Front Office departments. Therefore, there are three daily log books completed and all have to do with comments clients make. None of these three reports any comments on your behalf. Therefore, I may only assume that you have not reported any food challenge at all during your stay with us.
As you have experienced the hotel has exceptional hardware and a fresh team willing to provide a true experience. We thank you for informing us and believe that this procedure is to both of our benefits, as we all wish to keep our customers satisfied.
Warmest Regards,

Panos Almyrantis
General Manager

A bit of a wow factor when you arrive! A rather stunning entrance.

Amazing hotel, spent one week there in October, room 141. Large enough for my husband and I and our daughter. Lots of space, two rooms, great bathroom, private pool and stunning views of the cove. Really clean, well maintained and pretty good food, although on half board, it does become a bit of a routine!

Free wifi which really is essential in any hotel.

The staff are lovely, thanks so much to Maria on customer relations who's very passionate about the island and offers great advice on where to go and what to do.

Safe beach, good loungers and service from the beach bar. Spa is good but children have to be 16 to use the facilities although they can use the indoor pool (unheated!). The main outdoor pool is also unheated and was too cold for most to swim in. Maybe it's warmer in July and August!

One thing I should mention: although not a problem for us, it could prove to be uncomfortable for anyone with walking, mobility issues-very steep resort with lots of steps which are really difficult to avoid.

Not much to do in the evenings by way of entertainment, this did not bother us but it was quiet.

We were sad to leave which is unusual, another week would have suited very well!

Room Tip: Don't go for just a room with a private pool, they looked very small and not very 'private...

We have spent a week at this amazing resort and I fully recommend it for couples. Staff are amazing and ready to walk the extra mile at any time. They just keep following you around and serving you when needed. Great food variety, fabulous architecture and a fantastic sandy beach. This resort offers a retreat for those who work hard and wish to spend some quality time with their spouses.

This has been by far the best hotel we have ever visited so far and we have traveled quite a lot. The experience starts with a warm welcome from a lady offering you refreshing towels and an explanation of the resort. The view from the belvedere??? WOW!!!! You are then offered a drink at the bar while relaxing followed by a very professional rooming procedure by a guest relations lady. Rooms are with high quality furniture and fixtures and very big. We were told that the Villas are amazing and very private but there was no availability whilst there. The resort overall is spotless with the rooms being extremely clean. The food variety at the buffet is great and for those who do not prefer the buffet, try the Taverna with delicious Greek food and good prices. The Italian restaurant offers an authentic cuisine and has a great service team. The beach is great, very secluded with a very fresh team always willing to assist you. The night bar offers a tranquil atmosphere. Do try the Daios Cove cocktails!!! Overall I would recommend it to anyone looking for high quality service, great staff and a secluded environment.

Let me start this review by saying that we had a wonderful 7 night stay at Daios Cove Luxury Resort & Villas in October of this year. We found that in every instance the staff were very friendly & helpful and even went out of their way to make your stay more enjoyable (a cake was left in our room when it was discovered that my wife’s birthday occurred on one of the days holiday).

The setting of Daios Cove is simply stunning, constructed with gorgeous stone throughout this large development & features rooms/corridors that seem to go on forever, the sense of space is simply amazing. It really offers something for everyone with space to socialise with other holidaymakers if you wish or to be completely by yourself in the numerous seating areas but still having the ability to have refreshments served to you.

The beach is lovely & the water very clear to swim in. I did feel that the beach was slightly over crowded with umbrellas & seats so you didn’t really get a good feel of space.

Our room was very generously sized & had its own small pool attached. I suspect in the middle of summer, in scorching temperatures, the pool would work well. However in October the pool was simply too cold to use (we hadn’t opted for the heated option) & instead it was just something nice to look at. Bathroom facilities are large in size & wonderfully presented, however I would have liked more privacy between the bedroom & the bathroom as there was no door between these 2 rooms. Our rooms was higher up the development which meant we used the funicular system much of the time – wonderful idea but very slow! However you can call on any of the battery powered cars any of the time to transport you around.

The buffet restaurant provides a fantastic selection of foods with a different theme throughout your stay, its where breakfast is served & where we evening meals are also served (without extra charge if you are on a half board holiday). However I personally dislike buffet restaurants (no matter how good they are) & most nights opted to use one of the other 2 restaurants. The Greek restaurant provided a nicer atmosphere with seating outside, whilst the Italian restaurant provided a better quality of food. The Chateaubriand in the Italian restaurant we had on 2 nights was simply wonderful & I recommend this to all.

We also made use of room service for breakfast on at least 2 occasions which was fine if you just wanted breads, jams or eggs (they were a bit luke warm by the time they got to you though) .

My only reservation in giving a 5* review is that once within the Daios Cove complex you were really at the mercy of their prices. Many people will argue that you should accept high prices in a place such as this, but I disagree - particularly when it comes to the mini bar where you will be charged 5 euros for a standard can of coke, 5 euros for a bag of Kettle crisps (40g) etc etc........no no no!! sorry that's not acceptable. Even in the Greek restaurant where you would expect excellent food, on one night I had 4 (unintentionally dry-in-texture grilled shrimps, ie they had probably been frozen) that left me shaking my head in disappointment as I realised that that was another 24 euros to my bill for something I hadn't particularly enjoyed. Having said that, another night there I had some fantastic lamb chops so perhaps it was an off night. We had numerous beverages & food in the day on the beach (nothing excessive though) but this started to accumulate into quite a large bill by the time we left.

All in all I recommend Daios Cove but just keep any eye on what you are spending as you relax, as before you know it you could be running up a substantial bill that will make you far from relaxed at the end of the holiday.

Room Tip: If you are travelling here out of season (like we did in October) then avoid the rooms with a privat...

I was in Daios Cove in September 2013 with my husband and 5 years old daughter. We had one bedroom suite and it was perfect for us, because our little Sofia could sleep in separate room (living room with sofa-bed), but still she was next to us.
At the beginning we were anxious to go to another country with a small child (it was the first time for us), however, when we arrived Guest Relations girls were very helpful. One of them showed us everything around and she also explained us about all the facilities for small kids. Depending on the age they have three separate groups. Sofia was attending so called Kids Club. We were happy that we could have some free time and we knew that our daughter is having fun as well.
Another thing which we liked about the hotel was its incredible design. Even tough my husband is an Italian architect, we were really impressed with its modern and at the same time very natural style.
We were also satisfied with the food in Daios Cove. Mostly we were eating in the main restaurant Pangea, but we also tried the Ocean restaurant and the Taverna. As the representative of Italy I must say that the Italian cuisine in the Ocean restaurant is on the really high level. We also loved the Greek restaurant, we’ve been there for one of the theme nights with the live music and all our family had lots of fun.
My family had a great experience and we are looking forward to come back as soon as possible.
