“The best week ever”
Reviewed 26 May 2012

One week here was not enough....we have already rebooked for next may for two weeks!
The food, service, room, entertainment were just fantastic. We don't normally join in but the entertainment team were just great. Big thank you to Micky, johnny, destiny and all the others you do a great job! Micky from iberostar friends said she was starting a Facebook page and I wondered if you could send me the link to it as we can not find it?
Really looking forward to May 2013 and coming back. we have booked a garden view room and hope we get a room on a high floor overlooking the church in your beautiful gardens!
Thanks for a great holiday Jo and lizzie

Room Tip: Main building is great if you don't want to have to walk over to the village, sea view if possib...

We were staying in Mirabello with family (10 months daughter). Decided to invest into 5 stars and were happy about decision. Mirabello worth it. Friendly and helpful multilanguage staff. Everybody exited about small children. Good marketing tool, actually adressed to their parents :) but it was done in friendly and not disturbing way. Premium location with stunning views. Such a rest after noisy hotels in the centre. Agios Nikolaos is definitely our no. 1 town in Crete, and we've visited them all. Love AN because of higher level of services, cleaniness and not so mainstream approach to the tourists.
Mirabello - place for families, honeymoons and elder people, not a hotspot for party lovers. Without children I'd better choose cheaper and more centre oriented hotel.
If you can afford and choose between standart main building and village, go for the village. Peaceful tranqillue neigbourhood away from main building, evenning shows, etc. On the other hand, pool area and bars/restaurants are all locatedin in main building.
100% recommend for families

Room Tip: Village with garden view - good value for money. If with small children, don't go for main build...

Myself and my Wife had booked this hotel so we could get married in Ag Nik. On arrival you instantly feel at home and the visual beauty of the hotel and its surroundings takes your breath away.
Every member of staff has been excepetionally friendly and they have been very patient with my attempt to learn Greek. It has been great fun, Bravo!
We stayed in a Bungalow with a shared pool, although for most of our holiday we had our own pool, which was brilliant. The hotel facilities are superb, with two lovely pools, a nice harbour and plenty of wandering grounds with stunning views.
The food was exceptional, plenty of choice and the service was always top notch. Manilos is clearly doing a fantastic job!
On our wedding day, our room maid's had covered our room in rose petals, and placed champagne on ice by our bed. Even though we did not have our wedding ceremony at the hotel, the effort they made helped make our day unforgettable.
The evening entertainment has been great fun, and the entertainment staff are full of life and great fun to be around. The bar staff are always happy to help and again are very patient. Even when the hotel is busy, they always had time for a few lines of Greek!
One significant point is that disabled facilites in the hotel are very good. My wheelchair bound mother came to see us get married, and the hotel catered for her every need without making any fuss or drawing attention to her. She has not been on holiday for 15 years and this made it even more enjoyable.
Overall i would recommend this hotel to anyone thinking of coming to Crete. The drinks prices were good and in line with the rest of the island, the food was exceptional and the staff were very very friendly.

Room Tip: We stayed in a bungalow with a shared pool at their new hotel village. It was perfect for a honeymoo...

I chose this hotel for my honeymoon after reading other reviews on tripadviser. We downgraded from all inclusive to half board as we like to get out and about but upgraded to a private bungalow in the village area. This made my holiday - as it was just perfect and in a perfect location. Loved the fact that I walked straight from my room to the balcony to the pool -If you can, then do this upgrade - you wont be disapointed. I would say though, that although the hotel has 5 star status (probably due to the wellness centre and Spa) I would only class it as a four star going on the 5star hotels I have stayed in elsewhere - especially Dubai. The hotel staff were excellent, professional, helpfull and friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. I couldnt fault the food at all - there is something there for everyone and loved the restaurant "theme" evenings. The location of the hotel is really good and only takes about 20mins to walk into the town. The hotel also permit changing dinner for lunch which is great for spending the afternoon out and about with no rush back for dinner. The only few negatives for me was the lack of waiting staff at lunchtime (glad I wasnt in a rush to get a drink) but hopefully there will be more staff at the height of summer, the poor evening entertainment programme (held outside down a pile of steps near the beach) in the evening wind and the quality of the shows werent great. While we were there we stepped into the piano bar expecting some background music from the grand piano that was there but this wasnt the case. Instead we were entertained by Georgie Porter and her dancers from Glasgow - well done girls - you kept the crowd going and your entertainment value was so much better than what the hotel provided !!
Would I come back here? Too right I would, but only if I was able to get a bungalow in the village with a pool !! I could imagine it would be really busy in the summer with loads of kids so if you are an older couple who's kids are up and away, I would definately recommend staying there outwith July and August - Do give it a try

Room Tip: Get a bungalow

Stayed here the second week of May and there really isn't much to fault!
We paid an extra £50 and upgraded to a sea view room in the main block, it was well worth the £50 as the view was lovely. Room was spacious and clean and the maids did a great job everyday.
Food was varied and tasty, as a fussy eater I always found something I liked and couldn't fault the food at all. The restaurant staff were attentive and friendly.
Location of the hotel is between the two resorts and it is about 30 minutes walk to AN and you would need to get a bus/taxi to Elounda. The towns themselves are worth a visit but there are just a selection of shops and restaurants nothing to exciting.
Entertainment staff were incredible they really made our holiday! Big thanks to Destiny, Mitch, Rafo, Johnny and Nicky who were really fab and made us smile everyday. You won't be dissapointed with their service.
Hotel does have a lot of steps but there were several families with buggies and a few wheelchair users there and they didn't seem to have any problem getting around.
Pool area was lovely and worth staying there rather than pay the €3 to go on the beach (this is a government tax by the way and not something the hotel has control of) but it is free after 3pm.
Overall a great holiday and if you are thinking of booking - do it!
Weather was clear blue sky and soaring temperatures all week!

Room Tip: Worth paying to upgrade to a dea view room, i think it is about £47-£50 and well worth it!

We came here on a timeshare for our honeymoon and stayed in a 2 person bungalow. The room had 2 balconies....one with an amazing view of the water. It's clean and spacious. The staff is great and everyone speaks about 5 languages. The hotel offers a wide range of activities, sports, performances, dancing, etc....something for everyone. It has its own beach and lots of pools. It seems to be mostly older people staying here, but that didn't bother us any. We have had such a great time.

Room Tip: We stayed in a bungalow, and I'm not sure how much of a price difference there was for a room in...
