Just returned 25 May 2014,Hotel not bad scenery Fantastic, Food 100% as a seasoned traveller the food can not be bettered, I travelled with my wife and two daughters, that was the good bits,
The pools were lovely BUT freezing the most I ever see in the pools was about 6 people, The Spa pool advertised as heated but was FREEZING, There was nowhere to walk at night you were a captive audience, the nearest place was about an half hour walk away 6 Euro by cab one way, While we were there we had a few wedding partys, the way they behaved maid me ashamed to be British, the main bar quiet reserved with a professional act was abused by northern shot swilling louts, But the Main gripe was the Entertainment crew mostly Italian. Latvian, Eastonian, Not one Greek person, They were an Embarrassment they were worse than bad they were c***, Would I go again NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Ray

very good hotel with beautiful sea-view, friendly stuff, excellent food!
nice and energetic animation team with their chief Giorgio (stretching, bocco, volleyball, football, table tennis, archery, aqua aerobic etc.). By wish you and your children will have always what to do.
Also there is an opportunity to get professional fotos.
It was a real pleasure to be here! I'd like to come back.

This village is one of the most beautiful villages there are .. the staff is friendly and welcomes you from the first minute. the atmosphere will displace: music and games make you happy. A perfect holiday to spend with people you most enjoy, the family, friends ... even alone, because the animation and all the staff never ever make you feel alone. Great the amination team, in particular the chief Giorgio that is very nice and professional

Have just come back from a week at the mirabello. Our third stay. Some things have changed under the new ownership, only soft drinks in the mini bar, no wine and beer anymore, the beach sunbeds are now free and so is the wi-fi. The rest is much the same, although the animation team were not good, no real experience between them.

we booked a bungalow with shared pool and were initially given a standard sea view room, to get to "the shared pool" you had to lock up walk down a steep flight of stairs and hope there was a sunbed there !! We gave up and went to the village pool but were eventually moved after a lot of complaining. Make sure you get the room you pay for.

Many of the same staff are there and its nice to be recognised, our rooms were kept spotless as always.

Besides the room incident it was a good holiday with visits to ag nik and elounda on the bus and to the local bars and tavernas. Dioygenis just 5 mins away was always and still is excellent.

excellent hotel , clean , airy , superb location , the view from our balcony was delightful. the private beach was sandy and child friendly the pool was for me a little on the small side , sunbeds were plentiful and comfortable . the 2k walk into town was flat and passed a couple of bars . Spinalonga Island was easy to reach from the next town , Alounda only 10k away and 1.70 euro on the local bus. All the staff speak good English as do the local shop keepers. We booked through Thomsons but there were many nationalities staying there but it did not cause any problems. A REALLY ENJOYABLE STAY I would thoroughly recommend it

Room Tip: floors 5 or 6 for the best views

As used to 3 star smaller hotels this is only the second time going to a larger 4 or 5* hotel. First of all reading other reviews mentioning transfer times we booked with Thomson and I can say the transfer only took 1-1.30 hours as stated in the brochure. Also a lot of people have mentioned the distance to the centre of Agios Nikolaos again it was mentioned in the brochure that it is 2km away. I would say its a 10-15 min walk to the start of the promenade and 25 minutes to the centre of the town. Its a flat walk and there is a pavement most of the walk. There is a bus stop outside the hotel that takes you into town or also other resorts like Elounda and Plaka.
We were half board and so after a easy and quick check in went directly to dinner whilst our bags were taken to the room. The food was restocked and hot, there was always plenty of variety from traditional Greek food to your average chips and pizza. There was lots of salad too. The desserts were always 'scrumptious' I would find it a hard time just sticking to one cake. For breakfast again it range from 'fry up' e.g. bacon and beans to continental and yoghurts as well as more cakes including pancakes and waffles.
The room was a 3 bedded room situated on the ground floor of the hotel, the balcony was huge but unfortunately only had 2 chairs The beds were a little hard but no different to most other hotels. The TV only had news channels in English but why watch tv when there's a balcony? We were greeted upon a arrival to water, kataifis (greek dessert), raki, a kettle with teas and coffees and cream for the hot drinks.
The rooms were clean and the maids tended to change towels everyday. The maids were very perceptive for example they added an extra pillow and a blanket without asking when they realised we had needed it.
The hotel grounds were huge and consisted of 2 beaches with free sun loungers, a harbour, a wooded walk with a little church and a cave.
We did have some small problems for example there was definitely not enough sun loungers and could only get one when the weather was a little duller. There was no A/C in public areas like the foyer and dining room. The dining room would also get quite full considering its not even the height of summer yet. Entertainment was also a little lacking although the animation team were always friendly. We did on 3 occasions get uninvited insect guests, we most likely put it down to being on the ground floor as we didn't see any anywhere else.

There is a small shop on site and also across the road. There are 2 taverna's to the left of the hotel and a 5 minute walk from a lovely harbour and a walk to the left side of the harbour overlooks the town of Agios Nikolaos. If half board take time to visit the local taverna's here and in town, they appreciate it greatly due to the high number of A/I hotels in the area.

All in all it was a great holiday and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it although in the brochure it says its a 5* whereas I would probably say it was more of a 4*.

Room Tip: If walking problems or want a larger balcony the ground floor of the hotel might be the best place...
