The hotel is a small family hotel with nice rooms. It has family rooms but the bathrooms are very small and old. We had aproblem as we arrived as in the phone i asked for a tripple with two separated rooms and i scecifid that i wanted the bathroom to be in the middle and to have tv in both rooms. I had to go through the second room to go to the bathroom which is no convenient expecially in night. The aircondition didhnt work separetey in the rooms and there wasnt tv in both rooms. The second room with one bed was like the maids room as it had only a bed and two small tables. So why i am saying that the hotel is very good. Because of the behaviour of the owners. They tried to solve the problems and they were very kind. The hotle is in the heart of the city very close to the local tranfer.

I am not sure if we got the WORST room in the hotel but i have to say that it was quite shocking; The bathroom didnt have a shower door, and after the four of us had a shower, we could literally swim across to reception. The beds were old, and not made, and on the website they looked so pretty. It was a nice size room, 2 bedrooms so the kids had their room and my husband and I had ours. The airconditioning worked only with the key, and ONLY if the doors were closed properly. Out of curiousity I opened the blinds to see the outside and it certainly wasnt like the photo. The roof was full of ciggie butts and bird poo, beer bottles and empty packets.
The plus side is that the owner was really friendly, and helpful, and the breakfast was adequate. The mother ran around and tried to please everyone, and she succeeded.
It was centrally situated which was great and within walking distance to everything.
Thank goodness it was only for 1 night, otherwise I would have had to check out and return to the otherside of Crete. Chania though is well worth visiting.

Room Tip: Dont stay in room 207 :)

The hotel is within walking distance of many things in Chania. Clean place, wonderful staff, good shower pressure, great breakfast options, free wifi with great connection, and a/c.

However, the a/c only runs with the key on the wall so after touring around during the day your room is hot when you return. Or, the maids leave the sliding glass doors opens for you to air out your room. Being paranoid travelers on the lookout for theft, the sliding doors being left open is a little less than appealing. Yes, they do lock the shutters but, my guess is it probably wouldn't be hard to get those open once you're on the balcony. We stayed in room 307 and could hear water from our upstairs neighbors pipes through out the night. Maybe insulate the pipes better???? I don't know. The beds were hard and uncomfortable. The on site parking is a bit of a joke. It's free street parking in front of the hotel if you can find a space.

Overall, it's not a bad place. Just a few things could be tweaked.

Room Tip: this hotel is NOT handicap accessible. The elevator is located above 8 or so stairs. Beware of the...

We booked a short 3 night stay at Archontiki based on the positive reviews and we were not let down. The location is unbeatable, very close to the nightlife (5-min walk) and at the same time far enough to be able to have a quiet sleep. The main bus station is a 2-minute walk, very practical for the day trip to Samaria Gorge. Parking can be an issue, but generally we never had to park further than 200m from the hotel. Breakfast was much better than expected, but the real advantage of the hotel is that it is family-run, meaning everyone is as helpful as you would hope and more. Highly recommended, well worth the few extra euros compared to mass-tourism hotels in neighbouring villages on the outskirts of Chania.

Room Tip: Floors 3,4 and 5 have nice views of the old market and even the lighthouse of the old port to the no...

We are 2 adults and 2 seniors who stay at this hotel for 2 days. We had reserved a family room but somehow the reservation got lost and they did not have the room we wanted. However, being a family-run hotel, the owner quickly rectified the problem and gave us two separate rooms for the same price of what we would have paid for a family room. The owner also told us where we could park for free and recommended a couple of restaurants. Our rooms had a little balcony where we could dry out our bathing suit and had a partial view of the harbor. The rooms were simple and small, but clean, bright, and the A/C worked great. The location was the best part of this hotel. It is less than 5 minutes walk to the main tourist shopping area which leads to a lovely old Venetian Harbor. There were guests from various countries. Free WiFi worked great on the 3rd floor. The only draw back at this hotel is that there are about 10 steps before the elevator. I would stay here again.

The hotel is at a perfect location, in a quiet street, but in the heart of the town. Kind staff, great view, good breakfast and clean rooms make it excellent choice, especially for families with kids and young couples. I fully recommend the hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a large terrace!

We stayed for 2 nights. Friendly and helpfull staff. Location is very good- next to the old town, close to the bus station, in not-crowded street. Breakfast was good, double-room - big and very clean. It has one minus- we had no hot water late in the night.
