“EXCELLENT HOTEL!”
Reviewed 15 June 2014

The hotel was recentrly renovated, so everything was vwey nice! Great rooms, very confortable, with one of the best bathrooms I have find in a hotel! A very nice surprise what that you could still listen to what you were watching in the tv while taking a shower :) .. Great luxury and generally very very very very clean! the breakfast was loooooooong and tasty! Another great surpise was that the hotel was next to the bus station, so we could move easily to the beaches we were going! 5 minutes walking time from old town, so great and easy accesibility to taverns, cafes and bars! Totally reccomended! If i visit chania again, i will definately stay here again!

This is hotel is a true pleasure to stay at. Newly renovated, great bathroom, well functioning room and friendly staff to the boot. Beats a lot of places I stayed in the USA last month and at hale the price at least. Great value for money here.

We chose the Samaria Hotel as we wanted to be within easy walking distance to the Venetian harbour and the old part of town, but wanted to avoid being hassled by restaurant touts every time we walked from or back to our hotel, which would have been the case if we had stayed within the busy waterfront area.

This hotel has just been extensively upgraded and is a real gem. The hotel is now very modern and clean. Our room was spacious, beautiful and functional with hardwood flooring, a large flat screen TV mounted on the wall and modern bathroom and shower. The king sized bed was extremely comfortable which was so divine after our hike in the Samaria Gorge. Although the hotel is in the middle of town, our room was quiet and we didn’t notice any street noise at all.

What we appreciated the most is the wonderful staff who at 12 midnight, arranged our packed breakfast to be ready for collection at 6 a.m. the next morning, and our car transfer to Heraklion (even after we had agreed on the fare, she helped to get us a 20 euro discount).

What a great find, this hotel has just been done up and is a real treasure in the middle of Chania town. Very clean and tidy with a great pool which we spent time in and around with a cool drink and a lovely restaurant where we had a good breakfast.
The lift is a treat, long and narrow but nice and new, you will have to go there to know what I mean. The beds were divine, the best sleep I have had in a while, our room had a nice deck for evening drinks, by the look of it I think most rooms have a deck, the bathrooms are lovely, fully lined with marble. Very friendly staff who were able to help us with all our requirements, the hop on hop off bus pickup is right outside the hotel door, the centre of the town for shops is about a 2 minute walk and the restaurants(heaps of them) around the port are a nice 10 minute stroll away.
Will definitely stay there again if we are back in lovely Chania.

I was in business for one week in Chania and stayed at the Samaria Hotel. The hotel is recently renovated and very comfortable. Rooms are very quiet when the windows are closed. The front desk, restaurant and cleaning staff were all very helpful and professional. If coming to Chania again for business, I would definitely stay here.

Room Tip: try not to get a room overlooking the bus station

I stayed here 1 night while visiting on business. The location of this hotel is great, an easy walk to the old part of Chania and the waterfront area. The hotel is very modern and clean. My room was very small, but quite functional. The best part was the modern bathroom and shower. My bed was extremely comfortable and the room was quiet, even though the hotel is in the middle of town.
The breakfast which was included in my room rate was also good, with lots of choices.
The day/evening reception staff all spoke English and were very helpful, but I don't think the night shift spoke much English.
I don't think the room was worth the amount my company paid for it - if I was paying myself, it would need to be vastly cheaper before I would consider staying there.

Excellent city hotel; nicely decorated rooms; stylish bath. Great staff, polite, caring and efficient. Despite the central location, noise-proof. Will certainly come again and recommend it for business and leisure alike.
