In one word : perfect. We were bowled over by the way the Mantheakis Family has restored the old glory to their historic home and the amazing hospitality of all their staff. They made our visit to Crete so memorable. Our interaction with Margarita Mantheakis was outstanding along with all her staff.

For me, service recovery matters much. When the air conditioner in the Presidential Suite needed attention more than once, we found an apology note and chocolate cookies in our room the same evening. They didn't need to do it. However, that is the reason I am writing this positive feedback.

Each room is unique. They have provided modern facilities while retaining the old world charm. The staff were super friendly, the breakfast was amazing, eggs were made fresh, wifi was good (could be a little better though). One night, they even ordered dinner from a nearby restaurant and laid out the table for us.

I would recommend Casa Delfino 100%.

We have just returned from staying here for a week. Overall we would rate Casa Delfino as excellent and well worth staying due to the location, staff and accommodation. The building itself is impressive, welcoming and characterful.
Pros: food at breakfast was the best I have had in Greece, lots of choice, helpful staff, great surroundings and the offer of hot food was available. Room 23 was spacious with a great terrace (the same size as the room) and excellent wifi and tv reception. Cleaners were meticulous and always ensured that the room was cleaned to a very high standard and a turn down service was in place. Air con was also excellent and effective. Views from the room were very good...the main one from terrace was overlooking the street below and there was a partial window view of the harbour.
Cons: parking a car in Chania was difficult, top tip in August return around 4pm to find a space! Although no problem for us, room 23 is on the top floor in the old part of the hotel and so you need to be able to climb several flights of stairs to reach the room. Hotel roof terrace is beautiful but underused, maybe consider a drinks service or bar up there?
Overall, we highly recommend staying here. There are a couple of good beaches nearby but you need a car. Head west on the coastal road and you'll find a fantastic sandy beach after 5 or 6 miles before you reach Platanais.

Room Tip: Ask for a spacious room on a high floor

Absolutely loved this place Crete is an underrated delight of the Greek islands and we found it to be the best of them all! The hotel was beautiful the decor was superb! Was a little tricky to find but was situated on the old town of Chania and the staff were very helpful land directed us to a fabulous restaurant just minutes away. Wish we had longer there! Will definitely be back!

Casa Delfino in one word is perfect. As soon as you walk in it is a beautiful scenery that makes you feel like you're in your own personal traditional greek mansion. The size of the hotel was perfect, not too large but spacious. According to my families situation we stayed in several different rooms, all of which had a modern take on a traditional greek look. The hotel was extremely clean with staff and service to make your room suit your needs. Sitting in the breakfast area is one of the best experiences at this hotel. There was a wonderful selection of different home made greek foods ready and the staff also took orders. The area for breakfast was peaceful and accommodating for families, couples, friends, etc. we sat in a garden style area that was quiet and really gave you a feeling of being away in a greek home. Also the location of the hotel was great. Exiting the hotel lead you out to the town with different restaurants and shops. One of the best parts of the hotel all together is the staff. The front desk was extremely friendly and would go out of their way to make us happy. The fact that i can come to the front desk and they know my family and I was a big deal. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in Chania. The hotel was so amazing that I would go back to Chania and stay at Casa Delfino again.

My husband and I spent 5 nights here on our honeymoon this August. The entire length of our stay at Casa Delfino was wonderful, from the room to the staff to the food.
The hotel is located in the heart of Chania Town, a quick walk to everything you might want to see or do in the area. Cars are not permitted (or cannot fit!) on the streets surrounding the hotel, so you do have to walk a bit to get there. This wasn't a problem for us, even with our bags, as it was about a 5-minute walk from where our taxi left us, and easy to find.
When we arrived, check-in was quick and the staff was immediately at our service. Our bags were carried and we were welcomed with cool, fragrant towels and a map displaying all the best restaurants in the area. We stayed in the Master Suite, off of the main courtyard. The room was gorgeous! Margarita, the manager, explained to us that in the hotel's history, our room had been used to store wines; the architectural details reflect that in the ceiling beams and stone walls. We loved knowing that fun tidbit! Though we were right off the courtyard, we had no problem with noise - we even managed to sleep through breakfast right outside our room most days. The wifi was a bit spotty in the room, so we sat in the courtyard when we needed to send emails.
We each had a massage in the spa, which was a beautiful, if small, space. The massages were standard - Rania, the masseuse, made sure we were comfortable and helped us relax after so much traveling! I do wish they would include hot stone massages on their menu, as that's my favorite (maybe by the time I stay here again!).
The rooftop terrace has amazing views of the harbor. We did not partake in the bar services while up there, but instead used the space as a place to relax after a long day.
We only had breakfast at the hotel one time, but it was expansive and delicious! On our last morning, we had to leave very early to catch a bus. Margarita came to our room the evening before with a packed breakfast and snacks for us to take with us! How awesome is that?? She also brought an oatmeal, fruit, and yogurt treat that her mother had made which was, in a word, divine. We truly appreciated the thought she put into making us comfortable. Truly, the staff is what makes this hotel 5-star worthy. They were available at any time to answer questions and make recommendations.
The price of this hotel can be a bit steep, but it is worth every penny! If we ever return to Greece, we will definitely be staying at Casa Delfino again!

Room Tip: The Master Suite was GORGEOUS!

We arrived at Casa Delfino after nearly 24 hours of travel. The staff met us with cold towels and a smile. From the moment we checked in until our departure, the service was amazing. They handled dinner reservations, suggested day trips, and miscellaneous other details. The breakfasts were the best we had during our 10 day stay in Greece! We loved the courtyard in the hotel, and the location was perfect. A wonderful way to start our trip.

This hotel is very special. The staff is excellent and take their time to make you feel comfortable and well taken care of. The rooms are all different and very special, restaurant recommendations are superb. We even had our rental car battery fail us and they called the proper people and told us to go out and enjoy the day and they would call us when everything was fixed! We didn't have to waste much time worrying about the problem. Do not hesitate to stay here.
