“Wish we had stayed longer”
Reviewed 28 August 2014

We stayed at this hotel for one night at the end of our holiday to Crete. The setting of the hotel is beautiful, tucked away just off one of the main streets of the old town in Chania. We were upgraded to a suite on arrival which was great. Everything is immaculate and every works - Wifi, air con etc. The dining area is actually outside in a small courtyard in the centre of the hotel. Lovely breakfast in the open air. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Parking is a bit of a problem around the old town but they have a golf buggy to take you and your luggage back and forth to you car. The old town in Chania is wonderful especially down by the harbour. Lots of nice restaurants. I just wished we had booked more than one night as the whole experience was fantastic.

Our stay at the Casa Delfino was all we had hoped for. The friendly, professional and helpful staff were there to serve and provide exemplary service. The rooms were tasteful, spotless, spacious and great to come home to after a day at the beach or exploring the Old Town. Located in a great location in the Old Town of Chania, and within walking distance to restaurants, shopping and the amazing beach. The included breakfast was all you could ask for, and added to the great value of the Casa Delfino hotel. The hotel décor can best be described as traditional sophisticated. The Spa and new wing blends beautifully within this amazing property. We stayed for eleven nights and could have stayed for more days easily. It was a truly amazing experience and we can't wait to go back !

Room Tip: From what we saw they are all unique and charming, clean and spacious.

We recently spent the weekend at this amazing hotel. While the property and rooms are spacious and beautiful it was the people that made the difference. Margarita and her people were extremely knowledgeable and helpful. They guided us to the best of everything and truly made our trip. In the mornings breakfast in the courtyard was like being in a greek home with the love and attention of a relative who has not seen you in awhile. The staff then prepared our daily excursions to this magnificent islands wonders. These recommendations were priceless. Upon return our evenings meals were booked at some of the areas best local eateries. We would HIGHLY RECOMMEND staying at Casa Delfino and look forward to our next visit.

We are a family of four on a three week holiday to Crete, encompassing several types of accommodation in different locations. We have visited Chania old town before and love the old Venetian harbour. Casa Del Fino is tucked away in the old town and is really lovely. Our room was very different with a luxurious king size bed and small bathroom on a mezzanine level and two sofa beds and very large bathroom on the ground floor. As our boys slept downstairs we didn't actually use the large bathroom. we were there for four nights and it was lovely to have breakfast in the pretty courtyard in the mornings. The room itself was very quiet and comfortable. I did feel a little claustrophobic at first as the outside windows are covered with a blind and unable to open. I got used to it quickly and our boys said this was their favourite place during the holiday. The staff were lovely and made a fuss of my husband as it was his birthday during our stay, which was very nice. They also gave us the best advice which was to visit Marathi beach, a short taxi ride away and absolutely worth spending the day there. We would love to return one day.

We could not have been more happy with our stay at Casa Delfino. From the golf cart pick up through the streets of Chania to the spectacular room, perfect location, lovely roof-top view and fantastic breakfast, this is the perfect place from which to explore Crete.

The staff at Casa Delfino provide the best recommendations for places to visit and eat (including making dinner reservations for you, if you'd like). We spent our days exploring Crete by car and our evenings wandering through town. Always knowing we had the most comfortable and beautiful room as our home base.

The hotel itself is elegant and beautifully decorated. The service is understated and comfortable.

Our family agrees that this is one of those places you want to return to again and again.

This is a superb hotel, superbly managed. Public spaces and rooms are beautifully designed, none more so than the tranquil courtyard where breakfast is served (home grown and delicious). The hotel is constructed from a Venetian and an Ottoman house combined, thoroughly modern and yet still possessing period charm. There's a lovely roof terrace with stunning views of the harbour. A great place for a drink at sunset.

You could not find more friendly staff, nor better advice on where to eat, where to swim, and what to do elsewhere in Crete. There's also a spa with excellent massage. I would have stayed longer if I could. Thanks to Margarita and all her staff.

My husband and I stayed here on the recommendation of friends from Washington, DC. From the moment we were picked up at the parking lot (no cars allowed in Chania old town) to the moment we checked out, every detail was looked after. Margarita, the fabulous manager and overseer of everything, took good care of us. She weeded out the touristy restaurants in favor of amazing local places with great food, recommended the incredibly beautiful west coast beaches with which we fell in love, and she made our stay at Casa Delfino feel like home. The daily breakfast under a HUGE tree covering the hotel's courtyard is a perfect way to start the day. Everything is made fresh according to the recipes of Margarita's parents and grandparents. The entire staff made sure we were comfortable, happy, and well taken care of. I even had time for a massage in the hotel's beautiful spa which is more modern than the rest of the hotel but with design details using marbles and tiles that are an homage to older Greek architecture. The location of the hotel could not be more perfect and despite being in old town Chania, is on a quiet street. The hotel is perfectly situated, has great food, is restful and comfortable, and provides excellent personal service. What more can you ask for? Enjoy!

Room Tip: We were there in the heat of Aug and our room had ice cold A/C which made us very happy!
