“One of my favorite hotels ever!!”
Reviewed 15 May 2013

My wife and I spent 3 nights here on a splendid trip through Greece, and I must echo the rest of the reviews here - this was just an outstanding stay.

This is an impeccably-done 3-story boutique hotel a very short walk from the Old Harbor in Chania Town. The location is excellent, right in the mix of good food and entertainment. We used this as a jumping off point to explore the island and also to enjoy Chania Town itself.

The hotel design/decor is really well done, and we are fairly picky in that respect. It was recently renovated and has a great blend of classic and contemporary - it is beautiful. The rooms are flawlessly clean, very well outfitted with high-end bedding, fridges, remote a/c, wifi, etc, and very nicely decorated (we saw two). Rooms were comparable to nicer four-star hotels in America.

The service was impeccable (in typical Greek fashion) and Maria (front desk) and George (owner) went far above and beyond to make sure our every need and want was met.

Room notes - we started on 2nd floor in a large apartment-style room, it had alley view but was very very nice, quiet, and spacious. George (of his own accord and kindness) moved us to a 3rd-floor street/sea view room with balcony that was equally excellent, and balanced a bit more towards cozy and romantic. For street view rooms, street noise is not an issue as the windows and doors are top-of-the-line (I mean.. custom, super expensive.. I know building materials and shudder to think at the price tag!) with thick double-paned glass and let very little noise through when closed up.

We stayed in a hotel in Santorini that we paid near double for, and both unanimously agreed that the Palazzo was much nicer, and by far our favorite. As far as location, service, quality of rooms, charm, and so on.. this hotel is a *steal* at the current rates - don't hesitate.

Thank you for a lovely stay George, and we hope to return one day!

We stayed here for 10 nights in May. The staff were very helpful and friendly, the room was large, very clean and comfortable. The small kitchen area was really useful and the location was excellent, near the harbour in the old town. Also beside 2 excellent restaurants with good value local food. A beautiful town / hotel and I hope we will be back next year.

Room Tip: All the rooms were good, I believe, but if you want a sea view, you should request it.

A lovely boutique hotel, next to everything- on the Old Harbor of Chania!
It is rebuild but stays on the traditional style of the old city! Nice addition the lift-specially if you have luggage!
We stayed at the junior suite, which had the most cute balcony!
Great quality of mattress and linen!
The owner is very polite and helpful.
If you have a car (we did) you can leave your car on the public parking-it is only 5 min walk (no cars are permitted on the old city).
(There in no breakfast, but this is not a problem, since the hotel is on the best spot and the area around is full of cafes and restaurants- try the restaurant opposite the hotel, Tamam. Excellent!)

Room Tip: Try the junior suite or the suite

This is one of the best hotels we've stayed in in Greece. The staff are lovely, the room was very well appointed with one of the best beds we've ever slept in (CocoMat - a name to look out for!), the free wifi was fine, the welcome was great, the location is excellent - 30 seconds from the harbour but far enough away to be quieter. Treat yourself: you won't regret it - and it's not even expensive! Pillows are soft and towels are fluffy, too...

I spend one night in april in this hotel. It is one of the best hotels I ever stayed in, incredibly located in the middle of the old town 20 meters away from the old venetian harbour. It could hardly be better. It is a self-catering hotel with kitchenette, but there are a lot of restaurants nearby (medium priced).
The hotel rooms are sufficiently large, lovely decorated, spotless clean and quiet. The beds are very comfortable, the bath is furnished nicely in a modern style. Furthermore, the hotel offers a sun terrace overlooking some parts of the old town and the harbour. If you turn west, you will also find a small beach.

Due to the fantastic location, it is not possible to reach the hotel by car. But there are free and open parking lots directly at the seafront near the street "Theotokopoulou". From there you only have to walk for about 4 minutes to the hotel. You reach the airport in about 25 minutes by car.

I am very glad having found this lovely hotel. If possible, I will stay there again during my next trip to Chania.

We stayed in this hotel in April and enjoyed every minute of our visit. The hotel is conveniently located in the heart of the old town which meant we could readily access the historic harbour and the numerous winding lanes. It was like stepping back into a long gone era. However the hotel has been recently renovated and has all the comforts expected of a modern hotel. Everything has been done to a very high standard - the furnishings and the bed linen are of top quality. The owners were very helpful and had some useful suggestions to enhance our visit. I would highly recommend this hotel.

We stayed at Palazzo Duca in April 2013. It is located in the very heart of the lovely old town of Chania. Palazzo Duca is impeccably kept and recently renovated and as a matter of fact it is also expanding. Arriving can be a little trying but only because the tiny old city of Chania is a walking city with charming winding, curvy alleys lined shops, restaurants and hotels. I The best thing to do is to park your rental car by the water, leave your bags in the car and follow the directions by foot.
The staff and the hotel owner are welcoming and very helpful. We stayed at a studio which was small pretty room with a kitchenette and impeccably clean. The bed was very comfortable with good linen and pillows ,and so were the cocomat slippers included with the room.

Room Tip: Park your car and leave your bags. Look for the hotel by foot.
