“Great food, bad service”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 July 2014 via mobile

The food for breakfast was quite good. The prices too. The location is really worthy, especially early in the morning. However the service was really disappointing. I waited quite long till to make an order and be serviced. The waiter was almost absent.

“Nice food, good service and lovely views”

Good food here and free starters which was nice.
Seats next to the heaters where a blessing on one slightly chilly evening.
Cocktails were also very good and service with quick.

“Great atmosphere, great food, great value”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 July 2014

My partner and I stayed in Chania for a week recently. Overall we had absolutely no complaints with the food and service anywhere we went BUT we went to Remezzo and after that did not venture anywhere else, that speaks for itself. The restaurant is spotless, perfectly located on the harbour and the staff are excellent. The menu was comprehensive starting with breakfast, the English Breakfast being sufficient to spread one between the two of us comprising toast, with butter and Jam, a massive Croissant, Coffee/Tea and bacon, eggs, tomato and er! cucumber (which actually went well would you believe). We enjoyed various snacks during the day, try the fruit salad, cream and ice cream, not only is this massive, so once again split between the two of us, it is delicious, has masses of fruit and the picture on the menu looks like it would struggle to do one, do not be taken in. In the evening the meals were sensational from a simple cretan salad to spaghetti, traditional meat or fish dishes. All are served by attentive but not intrusive staff, nothing is too much trouble and, if you are sharing a dish there are no raised eyebrows but additional cutlery arrives with a "we knew you were going to do this" look. A hint which may be useful, if you are not impressed but the "gratis" Raki and a small icecream, share a sweet from the menu and the "gratis" drink is up-graded to Ouzo...a very nice end to a meal. Overall this restaurant was our favourite from a host of great eateries. On a final note having holidayed in Cyrpus on numerous occassions the food is massively better in Chania, night and day in fact but, the most noticeable difference was in the presentation of the toilet facilites. Throughout the whole of Chania from small street cafes to the restaurants in the old town with the exception of Starbucks we found these to be spotless. We will be returning to Chania next year, we will therefore be returning to Remezzo. Congratulations to the management and staff, you made an already memorable holiday even more so!! Thank You. If you want an idea of how extensive the menu is this can be downloaded from their website. I already have a list of dishes to be tried on our next visit.

“Poor food, poor service”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 June 2014

Walking around the harbour front in Chania, my partner and myself were handed a leaflet for a boat excursion from 3-6.30.. Deciding to book and attend the following day, we were handed a card for our reservation, also giving 10% off food and drinks at Cafe Remezzo (which the boat and cafe were owned by the same person). The boat trip was fantastic. We decided to conclude the experience with 10% off our food bill at Cafe Remezzo. Later in the evening, we were sat down at the front of the restaurant, given the obligatory glasses of water and asked for our order. Having spent the day on a boat and diving, something light seemed like an excellent idea. We noticed before sitting down, there was a special with Greek Salad, Moussaka and Coffee for 10 Euro's each. On ordering from the specials, the attitude of the waiter changed instantly, from once attentive to plain rude, snatching menu's from our table. After a short wait, two very average Greek salads were placed on our table (thankfully they were edible). Again, with plates snatched away as soon as we'd not even quite finished, in quick succession, two very cold looking plate's of Moussaka were placed on our table. They were... Cold. Lifeless. Not tasting of much at all. Unamused, but hungry, we eat them. Finally, the coffee was infact replaced with ice cream and were made to wait 20 minutes for the bill. We didn't leave a tip and left feeling distinctly disappointed after such a wonderful day. There's better restaurant's/Taverna's all over Chania... Find somewhere better.

“It's just ok”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 June 2014

Yes this restaurant is in a nice location in the old Venetian Harbour but the food isn't the greatest quality and I've been here a few times and when asking the waiters to make sure the bacon was cooked crispy they bought out bacon that looked like it hadn't even seen the grill! Also, I found it hard to get their attention to order more drinks etc. The thing that let's this place down is the staff unfortunately, if they just took a bit more time and care then it could be really good, but hey. I'm only one person.
