“One of the real traditional places”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 June 2014

I visited this place on a suggestion of a friend and was absolutely a gem. They have a small but very nice menu and their best dishes are the mix plates .Meat or sea food absolute fantastic and
real value for money .The brother is the chef who had worked many years in very good hotels as i learned and took many experience over the years .After he decided to make his own place and really is standing much from the other restaurants in the area .

“best traditional Taverna in Chania”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 June 2014

This small gem of a restaurant can be found tucked away in the corner of one of the quieter back streets of the old town away from the main drag in Chania. The dozen or so tables are on either side of the alley/courtyard outside. We were recommended to go there by one of our Greek friends and we were impressed. The cuisine is traditional Cretan fare including good lamb in beautiful sauces. A brother (chef) and sister (head host/waiter) run this place with effortless charm. The brother produces mouth watering dishes from local products. Many of the ingredients (lamb, yogurt, cheese, wine olive oil etc) are sourced/farmed on their parents land. His sister (Maitre d') is lovely and will give you plenty of advice if you need it. Mountain greens with potato and courgette, lamb in rich red sauce or yogurt sauce are delicious, but if you ask what else is available you'll find there are lots of other delights tucked in the menu. We don't tend to go back to a restaurant on holiday very often unless it is exceptional - but this one is. After our first visit we used this experience as a yard stick to rate other restaurants. We found this restaurant kept winning the contest and we went back there 5 times in 2 weeks. Oh, buy the way, this also happens to be one of the best value restaurants in Chania.

“Fantastic greek food !!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 September 2013

The restaurant is in the old thown of Chania. In a quiet street away from all the tourist noise :) friendly service and large portions of tasteful homemade food. We ordered Greek plate and mixed plate. So we got to taste a variety of things. I will definitely recommend visiting this restaurant.

“Quiet atmosphere”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 September 2013 via mobile

This was a great experience. We were 6 people +2 tiny kids. We ordered mixed plate for 2 and Greek plate for 4. Lots of very good food, deliciously presented. We got a free fruit plate after the dinner, and the kid got a big ice cream. Very good service!
This place is located in a quiet narrow street in the old town, away from all the fuss.

“Home made greek food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 August 2013

If my grandmother was Greek this would have been her kitchen! The food is simple but made with love just like my grandmother used to. I really like the fact that this restaurant is a little bit hidden away in a quiet street. It makes it feel more authentic. This is one of the places I always return to.
