Antica Casa is nice, a large room with bathroom in a historic house in the tangle of lanes a few minutes away form the old harbour with a balcony that gives a good view of the old town.
We liked the place but I've docked it a rating point for having no cooking facility. When something advertises itself as 'self-catering' and with a 'kitchenette', one does at least expect a couple of rings or a microwave. Antica Casa has just a fridge, kettle and cutlery and crockery. When we asked, there were mysterious references to a previous occupant having had "an accident" with a cooker.
Crete is hot and it may be that many people are happy with cold food, but listings I've seen for Antica Casa do not make it clear that it lacks cooking facilities. Other than that, its a good place to stay.More
