“Great place to stay in Chania!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 October 2013

Following friend's recommendation we spent one week in Villa Andromeda... The stay was absolutely wonderful. The hotel Is very well located, slightly outside the city center, with amazing views. The hotel itself is great. It is an old Mansion, with a very nice and big swimming pool where you can rest after a day at the beach. The suits are very spacious and consist of 2 rooms. The breakfast at the terrace is a great experience. The staff is very kind, professional and helpful. We want to return!

we stayed here for 2 days in September, and wish it could have been more. The room ( ground floor front ) was huge, light and airy. The view from the balcony straight out to see. The breakfast was divine, and the pool area perfect after a days sightseeing. Not the smartest, nor most modern, but full of character, welcoming, and fantastic.

We stayed at the Villa Andromeda in Chania for two nights last week and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The room was spacious and comfortable and included incredible breakfasts on the balcony (with a terrific view of the harbor), but perhaps the most important feature was the attention Barbara and Athena gave to each guest to insure that their visit was the best possible. They are knowledgeable about Chania (what to do, where to eat, what sights to see, etc.) and make you feel at home. We had to leave early and were going to be gone by breakfast, but Barbara nevertheless found a way to supply orange juice, coffee, and their wonderful croissants by the time we left! Highly recommended!

Villa Andromeda is a great place to stay. We have just returned from a week here and we were greeted like old friends. Athena and Barbara go the extra mile to ensure everything is up to first class standard and that you are having a good time. Our split level suite was like a spacious apartment, our bed was very comfortable with crisp clean cotton sheets, perfect. Breakfast was delicious with selection of fresh pastries jams etc, couldn't eat it all there was so much. Location was good for us with just a short stroll into Chania town. We were given lots of local info on where to shop, eat etc which we found really helpful. Would not hesitate to recommend this villa to anyone who appreciates staying at a quality establishment.

Room Tip: All rooms are very good.

We loved this hotel. Our room was a front room with a view and it was superb, but I think any of the other rooms would have been just as lovely , the pool and garden area were divine, so a room looking out to the pool would have been equally pleasing. The room we had was 2 levels, with the bedroom and bathroom on the top level. As I am travelling with my 19 year old daughter it was too much trouble dragging our suitcases upstairs so everything tended to stay downstairs. While a bit of a nuisance this was not a real problem as we really didn't use downstairs much except to use the table and chairs for planning our days. I am not sure but I think all the rooms had the two levels, if you cant manage stairs then you should check this first. There was a lovely complimentary bottle of wine in the fridge which was a lovely extra touch., Thank you Athena! Also fresh flowers in the room! A special touch. The hotel was always calm and peaceful and Athena was warm, helpful and very welcoming. Her restaurant recommendations were always reliable and our two favourites were Well of the Turk, and Tamam, superb!
The staff were also friendly and kind, in particular Barbara who had excellent English skills and always a smile on her face.
After check out we were able to stay around the pool (superb pool and very suitable for lap swimming) until the taxi arrived for our late afternoon flight.
My only criticism is that perhaps the bed was a little firm for us, particularly as we had just stayed in Heraklion where the bed was even better than my own bed at home. But here I am being very picky as we still slept well and thoroughly enjoyed our time here. Walking into Hania old city was a lovely walk, good exercise and it was also great to be away from the hustle and bustle and spend some time around the pool an oasis in Hania. Go and have your photo taken with the snake woman at the Port, she is lovely and gentle and for five Euro you have a photo of yourself cuddling a gentle well fed Boa and helping keep this lovely young woman and her children out of Siria. She works long and hot hours struggling to support her little family and is at the port everyday.

Overall we had an enjoyable and relaxing 5 day stay in Hania, we would definitely return to Villas Andromeda!!!

My daughter and I spent a very happy week here. We were well looked after by the lovely Athena and Barbara for whom nothing was too much trouble. The villa is perfectly located, in that it is in a peaceful area with beautiful views, but only an eight minute walk away from the centre of Chania. The pool and loungers are clean and relaxing and the view from the terrace is breath-taking. I would highly recommend you make the most of it and eat breakfast there. We really liked the split level room, as it meant we could go to bed at different times and not disturb one another. I would also recommend the wonderful fish tavern Seabreeze which is only four minutes away from Villa Andromeda and serves a large variety of delicious, very fresh seafood.

Villa andromeda surpasses all expectations. It posesses abundant charm, exquisite decor, beautiful views and an excellent location. Above all it has owners and staff who take a great pride in going that extra mile to make clients feel welcome. It is impossible to fault.

Room Tip: Choose an upstairs suite (numbers 5 to 8) if you want the best views, a balcony with exceptional vie...
