“Nice place to stay in Chania”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 March 2012

We stayed for a couple nights. Great owners, hard to find at first but after a couple passes thru town we found it. Parking a rental is tough to find, Nice rooms though I think we did get a brand new room that was heavy on pine oil smell. It seemed brand new on bottom floor. We were not in the room that much to begin with. Chania was a beautiful city and we enjoyed just walking thru the streets. Lot's of great places to eat nearby. It is on the street of knives..

Room Tip: park down by the waterfront

A nice little hotel in the centre of the old town of Chania. We were 3 adults (parents with an adult daughter) sharing a small suite. We felt very welcome and the staff did everything to give us the best service. Great breakfast with fresh juice and fresh bread every morning even until 11 am. Only bad thing was that you can't park a car (rented) close to the hotel,- maybe 5-10 min.walk from the hotel. Many good places to eat near by. We would like to return.

Last summer I and my husband spent some days in this hotel, by following TA (quite positive!) suggestions on this hotel. When we arrived, we discovered that our registration was actually NOT received as a reservation for a double room (as we believed, and according to what was written in our email), but for a SINGLE room (according to the confirmation received by the system, as the hotel owner told us). At this point the owner told us that there was no particular problem for our accommodation because he had a double room available but... OF COURSE... we would have to pay some more money for this room (as it happened). At the end, he gave us a "beautiful and large double room at the top floor": the room was clean and large enough, but unfortunately, being at the highest floor, the water system did not work properly: the pressure of the water (especially the hot one) was really low and then at the end we did not manage to have a DECENT shower during all our stay!! In addition, the air conditioning in the room was really NOISY... (and, during the summer it is just not possible to properly sleep without air conditioning in Chania!) :-((
The morning when we had to leave the hotel another couple arrived, and we discovered that they were just experiencing the same situation as us (having done a reservation for a double room for a fixed price, and at the end discovering that that reservation was actually for a single room and THEN, OF COURSE, the price was higher...). What a coincidence....!
If a friend would ask me about this hotel, I sincerely would not recommend it!!

actually, during 5 days last summer we experienced some problem with water having a low distribution from the city system. we were aware of it and tried to minimized it and to managed it with our guest. As for the booking we tried our best to manage a request for a single room when we discovered at check in time that our guest where two... (verba volant, scripta manent)

Bozzali is a lovely, quiet small hotel in Old Chania. It is located only a block from the harbour front, so it is very close to all the town has to offer.
Our double room was in the back courtyard, and was so airy and clean! It was great to come back to after a hot day walking and swimming. It has very high, beamed ceilings and the washroom is very large.
Breakfast in the morning was outstanding (including the freshly squeezed orange juice), and it will be something we will continue once back home. Katerina was a lovely hostess and very helpful.
Only issue was the the internet only seemed to work in the courtyard, perhaps putting wireless in the room would be a good option.
Thank you for a great stay, we will be back!

I spent 7 nights at The Bozzali. Antonio, the Italian owner, is a wonderful host. He has many years experience in the hotel business and knows how to look after his guests. The hotel is in an old building right in the heart of the old town, a two minute walk from the splendour of the Venetian harbour. Antonio plays great music, on vinyl no less, and the breakfast room doubles up as a small wine bar in the evening. He has an excellent selection of Italian wines. Breakfast is copious and the rooms are comfortable, and well equipped, with a fridge and TV. I loved my stay here and will be back. Chania is quite enchanting. Enjoy.

We have just spent two nights here and I cannot think of a single negative thing to say about this small, well-run hotel. Charming building and rooms, tastefully furnished, with modern conveniences (Wi-Fi that actually works for once), decent breakfast, quiet location in the old quarter, only 5+ mins away from the waterfront, 20 mins to the beach, good restaurants in the immediate vicinity (much better than those on the harbour which you should avoid), ultra-helpful and friendly owners, good value at Euro 65 a night inc. breakfast. It's not difficult for taxis to find as long as you get off on Sifaka (in front of the hotel's restaurant and besides, there is a prominent sign for the hotel itself). A very happy couple of days in Hania! Thank you, Luana !

Very nice hotel.
Nicely furnished. Large room.
Very good breakfast.
Friendly owners.
Well located in old town.

Only possible drawback is a lot of steps to rooms.
