Casa Leone Boutique Hotel

Certificate of Excellence

We booked the Casa Leone due to all the positive reviews on here and whilst it is very well positioned and the rooms are quite nice, we were disappointed that our view from the room was obstructed by some building work. This was apparently due to high winds during the winter and whilst we do understand that repairs needed to be made, we really should have been told before arriving.
Also, I cannot agree about the breakfast. You may get plenty of food, but some of it was far too heavy for that time in the morning. However, if you have a big appetite and like a filling pastie then you will be in your element.
It is a nice little hotel and the owners and staff are friendly and the location is excellent. We just felt when we visited, it fell short of what we were expecting from the reviews on here.

Superb service , the best hotel room my wife & I have ever stayed in, and we have travelled the world! Great views from the balcony over thee old port. Nikoli the owner & his staff were warm , welcoming and helpful at all times. They deserved to recieve their " Greece Hotel 2012" from Tripadvisor.com. They deserve more awards, hint!

Room Tip: All rooms are great!!

I have always wanted to stay in the old port area in Chania and we just did, if only for one night. Not only are the owners the nicest people ever, but, the room was fantastic, the breakfast second to none...can you say REAL Greek yogurt, honey and granola...plus a million other delectable items. This is the Greece dreams are made of.

My wife and I have done a lot of travelling and have stayed in many types of accommodation, but Casa Leone ranks as one of the best we have ever stayed in. We recently spent a few days in Chania and were 2 nights at this wonderful hotel. We were the only guests there at this quiet time of the year and although we were spolied rotten by the owner and his wonderful assistant, Maria, we felt that the welcome we received and the service would be typical throughout the year. Casa Leone is a small, but unique hotel, with only 5 bedrooms, each very tastefully decorated and furnished. Each room, and the hotel in general, was kept spotlessly clean, the bed was very comfortable and towels were changed daily. The breakfast was probably the best we've ever been served and was far too much for one person to eat!!!! We had a lovely view over the harbour and breakfast was served in the tasteful reception area, which also overlooks the harbour. It was just like sitting in somebody's dining room. Whilst night-time revellers around the harbour may slightly disturb the peace of the location, Casa Leone was the ideal place to stay for a special getaway break and we would recommend it to anyone. Thanks to Nicos and Maria for making our stay so enjoyable.

We visited this beautiful hotel in July 2009. It ranks as one of the best locations in the world. A special private place but directly next to the bustle of an old Venetian Harbour. The ships pass by your balcony! The service we received started with the owner and his wife waiting late into the night for us to arrive. They provided spontaneous transport and friendship out of the top drawer.

Room Tip: Take a chance on the noise, be in the front rooms overlooking the Harbour. If you can't beat the...

First impressions on arrival where extremely favourable and exceeded our expectations. Maria (the hostess) gave us a wonderful welcome which sealed the whole experience of the weekend. The room was warm, relaxing and beautifully appointed. The location of the hotel was perfect within easy walking distance of both the parking, and the tavernas. The breakfasts, provided by Maria, where outstanding and set us up for the day (particularly as we went up to Omalos in the snow!) This is an exceptional hotel which I would have no hestiation of using again. Thank you.
