Casa Leone Hotel in Chania is recommended by the Lonely Planet travel guide, so we decided to stay for two days in this hotel during our holidays in Crete.
The reservation by phone was very easy. The owner Nikos and Antonia at the reception are extremely friendly and helpful. Our room room with garden view was comfortable and quiete big enough for parents with two children. The breakfast prepared by Antonia was excellent and really perfect! Home made cookies and cakes and fresh orange juice were standard.
The view from the hotel balcony is amazing.
So we had a good time and appreciated this nice hotel and the perfect service.

While visiting Chania we stayed at the Casa Leone Hotel located right on the Old Venetian Port of Chania. The hotel was very clean and the staff was very friendly. Our room was very nice and comfortable and it had a balcony overlooking the port, so when we chose to stay in at night we could still be part of the action by sitting on our balcony. The breakfast served every morning was fantastic. We definately recommend this hotel to anyone. Cannot wait to go back next time we visit Chania. June 2012-Montreal, Qc, Canada

My partner and I stayed here a little while ago for about a week. It was delightful!

We had the honeymoon suite on the top floor with an enormous patio all to ourselves that looked out onto Chania harbor. My favorite thing the whole trip was having my morning coffee out there while watching the sun rise. My second favorite was evening cocktails while the sun set...

The staff is very friendly, Maria is the only name I remember right now. She was very quick to help with any request and always put out a wonderful breakfast spread, way moe than I could ever eat. My partner and I ended up splitting a single breakfast and still had too much food.

I would highly recommend this place for couples.

Room Tip: It's a small place, I don't think they have a bad room, do try to get one with a view of the water though.

Yes, the view is probably the best in Chania, the owners are charming, the breakfast is superb. But all not enough for the prices charged. One wonders why after spending so much in restoring this lovely old building and making a wonderful job in the main room where breakfast is taken, they stopped at the rooms. The furnishing is average - what you would expect to find in a local home; a cheap Michelangelo print adorned the wall; red nylon curtains frame the gorgeous view; the bathroom was a bit tacky - water flowing onto the floor from the shower and a pipe from the toilet stuck through a hole punched through the shower cabin... Nothing disasterous and all would be OK if you were paying €60 for a room in a modest boarding house. For what in Chania is a 5* price you expect better.
