Spent 4 nights at the Casa Leone May 3-7.Excellent all around.Very nice staff, great breakfast, helpful all good.Had the honeymoon suite with the private balcony and if you splurge go for it.Well worth it.Just heaven to come back after touring around and drink some wine overlooking the harbour. Also the room was quite quiet. As stated by others the location is great.Highly recommend it.

Room Tip: Go for the Honeymoon suite.

We only stayed 3 nights at the Casa Leone and wished we had booked longer. After 24 hours traveling, our welcome by Maria set the tone for an enjoyable stay. The hotel is well placed to observe and enjoy the Chania Old Town sights, restaurants and bars. The oval room has a 180 degree view of the harbor from the balcony, where we had afternoon tea each day. Due to the position at the front of the hotel the noise from the evening can be heard, however, the views and location outweigh any minor inconvenience. Rooms were cleaned everyday, well maintained, and had the ambience of an old Venetian home. The breakfasts organised by Antonia were exceptional! We enjoyed local yogurt, honey, pastries, eggs, bread and coffee....yuuuummm. Thanks to Antonia, Maria and Nikos for making our short stay a memorable part of our holiday. We would certainly return to stay at Casa Leone.

The renovation of this 600-year-old Venetian building is elegant, and our first treat was coffee and cakes on the hotel's balcony, overlooking the harbor. Both Maria and Antonia were extremely helpful in orienting us. The location on the harbor and in the old Venetian section of the city is wonderful, and it's possible to drive to within a short walk of the hotel without encountering much of the traffic congestion of the old town. We didn't have a room right on the harbor and so didn't encounter any noise issues. Breakfast was bountiful, delicious, and beautifully served. On our second afternoon, we had tea in the inner courtyard, also lovely. We would definitely stay at Casa Leone again.
We loved the April weather and the wildflowers all over Crete, but many excursions, ferries, and some museums aren't available until later in the season.

We stayed for 3 nights and loved this small hotel. The location on the harbour side is amazing and it´s not the sort of place we would usually choose but we loved it. Great views and great hosts. You feel welcomed and they look after you like friends would. Tasty breakfast every morning while soaking in the view. Bed was comfortable and the room beautiful. Bathroom was small but it was all very clean. We had no noise issues, but then we are heavy sleepers. We would recommend Casa Leone for loved up couples as it feels romantic.

Casa Leone is a 600 year old Venetian residence, lovingly restored. In April the weather was perfect, and we enjoyed eating breakfast with the doors to the outer bay and the portico open. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful...lots of island fruit. I enjoyed drinking coffee and spending time on my laptop while waiting for Maria, one of the employees, to show up on her motorbike with three neighborhood feral cats behind her, waiting to be fed, right on schedule. The view from our room and the breakfast area was very beautiful. We stayed for four nights and had a great time. Antonia was always willing to help us with ideas on where to go, and we did make it the the lovely Imbros Gorge on her suggestion. We also met a lot of very nice and interesting travelers during breakfast, a highlight. If you're a big person, the shower will be too small for you, so take note.

Room Tip: If you are a light sleeper, choose a room in the back.

We recently stayed here for Easter and had a wonderful time. The rooms are great, the breakfasts lovely and an excellent location. There is one but, if you're a light sleeper then book a room at the back of the hotel. These rooms are still excellent and you can still use the main balcony for the views. To be fair all the hotels are doing what they can to reduce harbour noise and you will still love Chania.

We stayed here as part of our honeymoon in March 13. The staff were really friendly, in particular, Antonia and Maria. The breakfast was delicious and we were treated to a different cretan speciality each day. Antonia was incredibly helpful with arranging our hire car and giving us directions for the best way in and out of Hania.
We stayed in the top room that had a large patio that looked over the harbour. The view was amazing and the room was very comfortable.
We would really recommend this small boutique hotel if you want to stay somewhere that feels like home.
