Brilliantly situated for the beach. Hotel was clean and tidy with fresh towels and bedding.
Our room overlooked the side, so not an ideal view!
Breakfast was continental, not to my preference but just ok. Ideal as a base for a beach holiday.

As we stayed last year we wanted to be close to the beach as possible.Rooms are basic but clean and you are walking distance from old Harbour , restorans and shops.Ideal location, close to the beach ...Take a room with balcony and enjoy the view.

We left our previous hotel a day early as we were let down by the quality. Turned up here off the cuff and paid 55 euros for a room for the night. Went up to our 3rd story room, had the most incredible view of the sea and the whole beach/bay. Lovely clean rooms, breakfast was great and included, very friendly service. We ended up missing our flight so came straight back and stayed another night!

Room Tip: Make sure you get a sea view as its only another 10 pounds

Having stayed at the Danaos hotel last year, me and my partner decided to return again this year and I'm glad we did. The hotel is still as lovely as we remember it and after looking around I still stand by my decide of it being one of the best hotels in that area.

The hotel has changed slightly since our last visit but it has made it even better. Seeings as its right on Nea Chora beach, they now have sun beds which are nice and new and are situated on one of the best areas of the beach in my opinion.

The staff were very friendly as always and made us feel very welcome. They even gave us the same room as last year with the beautiful view.

This time we chose to book an excursion through them to Samaria gorge which was a very reasonable price. Also the morning we were supposed to leave my partner was taken ill so had to cancel 20 minutes before the bus arrived. We then went to book it again for the following day and they were kind enough to change our tickets at no extra cost.

Anyone looking for a lovely clean and friendly hotel with good sized rooms at a very reasonable price. This is the place for you.

Room Tip: Its worth paying extra for a sea view. We've stayed in room 34-R both times. request that if you...

We just came after have spent wonderful 3 days in Danaos hotel. We were 3 persons, one adult and two quite young, but we still got the room with a sea view as it was large enough to place one extra bed.

Our room had the view of Nea Chora bay and everything we needed, as sun sets, beach, atm, small shops and fish tavernas right outside, so we spent a lot of time only in neighborhood, having visited the Old town and venetian harbor only a couple of times.

We found Nea Chora very relaxing and interesting, as the center of the town was surely lively with shops and cafés, and the venetian harbor full of people and tourist attractions, however being in Chania for the first time and only for 3 nights, we preferred to keep it simple and just relax.

We will definitely come back to the same hotel as we liked the room, the breakfast and the friendly people there. Special thanks for the carrot cake we were served last day, it was delicious!

Room Tip: Room 34 was just perfect. Last floor, only 1 neighbor and wonderful sea view.

In September/October 2012 my wife and I spent 2 weeks at this hotel. Its location is pretty ideal, right on the Nea Chora beach, in fact so close that you can surf on the hotel's WiFi while you are basking in the sun. Very good.
The hotel istelf is very basic. The rooms have shower and toilet, a bed or two, a couple of wooden chairs and little table. Luckily we had booked a room with a balcony. It was tiny, but a fine place to enjoy the view of the beach. The room itself, however, is hardly more than a place to sleep, and there is really no other place to lounge inside the hotel, apart from a sofa and a couple of chairs in the reception area. In addition there are some tables and chairs on the patio in front of the hotel. Here you can enjoy tea, coffee and other drinks at a good price and at almost all hours. We often preferred to have our breakfast there.
Breakfast was the only meal that was served during our stay there. Every day it was exactly the same, only the bread might be slightly different sometimes. Finding brown bread made from whole grain is a great plus in our opinion, and so are Greek yoghurt ande honey. Otherwise breakfast was typically "continental"; very basic food, but all you really need (see photos). The woman who was in charge of breakfast, was very kind and helpful. The rest of the staff were just normally polite and OK people.
Cleaning of common areas as well as our room was of good hotel standard.

In short: Situated virtually on the beach with central Chania within walking distance, this is a good place to stay, if you stay out and the weather is good. If you are looking for a place to enjoy being at a hotel, you should look elsewhere. That's what we'll do, being 60+ and expecting quite a bit more of a hotel. For those who go for this hotel, it might be and idea to bring a portable smoke alarm. At least we could not see any such thing anywhere in the hotel.

This hotel is at nice location : next to the beach, 15 mins from town center, 15 mins from bus station, 10 mins from bank and super market..
The employees are friendly and helpful, one of the employee don't speak English much.. but he is always there to help.
The buffet breakfast is good and have many choice, it's possible to eat outside with a nice view on the beach. With a prior arrangement, we can have our breakfast earlier, when we went to Samaria Gorge.
The room was clean. The shower was really tiny, only 2 square of ceramic, and no curtain.
