Had a late breakfast and spent the afternoon at the pool of the hotel (while not being hotel guests!). Hotel owner and daughter were very hospitable and friendly and allowed us the use of the pool. You can tell from the pool and lobby that there is a diligent focus on cleanliness.

We arrived here after a very long and hot drive through Crete and were made very welcome. Initially we were only going to stay one night but ended up staying three and wished it was more! The family were great and couldn't do enough to make our stay as good as it could be. This has got to be by far the best "Sea View" room I have ever had and as already has been said the pool was fantastic and quiet - lovely to come back to after a hot day at the beach. We will definitely be coming back to Lena Beach and thank you Kelly and family for a lovely end to our holiday. Tracy & Glen

Lena Beach Hotel is a lovely place to stay located at a great place.
The staff was truly friendly and helpful surprising us positive. They literally makes us feel as our home. Not only
there were clean and beautiful rooms including a magnificent view of Kalathas bay, but also there was a big clean pool and great common facilities around it.
The Beach was next to the hotel ,about 3 min. on foot and you can visit it anytime during the day , more than one time.
City of Chania is only 9 km away and bus makes routes every one hour. Also taxi can help you but considering you drive your own car the hotel parking is more than secure and convenient.
the area was really quiet making our sleep very satisfying.

I recomend Lena Beach Hotel to everyone who looking for high quality holidays and beautiful accommodation place to stay for him and his family in a peaceful environment which makes you feel like home

Location is great : close to Chania but remote and quiet to allow for a good rest. A lot of possibilities <20 km with nice beaches and archeological sites + good restaurants.
Hotel is clean and quiet and the pool is a big plus (hardly anyone by the pool in the morning! )
But above all very kind family with some small attentions for our family every day !

I was there recently for 3 weeks on business. The family of owners was more than accommodating to our crew. When returning from the beach someone would be waiting to hose off our feet before coming up to the patio! When sitting outside enjoying some conversation, appetizers and drinks were often brought out (complimentarily, I might add) with a smile. The pool is pristine with a stunning view of the bay. As another commenter stated, yes the in-room TVs are small--but when on the coast of Crete and only ten minutes from the city of Chania why on earth would you be sitting inside watching TV? Take the 90 second walk and spend your time at the beach! And so you know, the Hyatt in Guam has the same size TVs. This is common in a resort-type setting outside the US.

The only downside is while they have a restaurant in-house, it is not open for some reason. They can make small meals like pizza, garlic bread, and the like. However, if you want a real sit-down meal you do have to leave the property or order takeout.

I've travelled to Asia, Australia, Europe, and all over the US. I can honestly say that Lena Beach Hotel is hands-down the best experience I've had at any lodging facility. The management is friendly and eager to help, the views are amazing, and the price was very reasonable. There is no other option for me; if I am ever in Crete I will be staying here again.

Loved our week in Kalathas staying at the Lena Beach. The owners were so friendly & helpful... they made us feel like family during our entire visit! The room was spotlessly clean, and the bed was comfy. The bathroom was cramped, but clean & functional. The sea view from our balcony was incredible... opening the rolladens in the morning was pure joy! The air conditioning was efficient, even during the hot August temps. Breakfast was served on the patio outside, and Katerina made sure we had everything just the way we wanted it. We usually ended up missing lunch as we were still full from breakfast! The pool was clean & a lot of the time we were the only ones out there... was like having a private pool! It was an easy walk to the nearby beach... I would recommend water shoes to navigate the rocky path to the main beach though. There is a small beach without facilities adjacent to the hotel, and a larger beach with chairs/umbrellas for rent a few steps further. There is also a beach taverna with fabulous fresh fish & a beach bar. A short drive into Chania & only a 15-20 minute drive from the airport, the location is great! When we were there a couple of years ago in June the beach was no where near as busy as it was in August, probably due to the kids still being in school at that time. If we visit the Chania area again we will stay at Lena Beach!

Room Tip: The top floor rooms have better views.

This family managed location is exceptional! The room are clean, the beds are comfortable and the views and hospitality are wonderful! If you are looking for a great place to visit Chania and some of the best beaches in Crete, this is a good, central location. Only 2 minutes walking distance to the beach, sitting on the balcony and watching the sun rise or set is a must! The full services (restaurant, bar, and pools) open soon (in May); they were not while we were there but the friendly atmosphere, great location, and genuine concern for your experience made it immeasurably fun! Highly recommend you give this location a try if you are visiting Chania!

Room Tip: A ocean view is a must and well worth any price difference you pay :)
