There are three villas under the Anemos umbrella, all are independent and private of each other.
We stayed in Avra which consists of a villa with a twin on the ground floor and a double with en-suite shower room and large balcony on the first floor. The villa has views of the sea, a large garden with very nice dining area and good sized pool with ladder steps.
Avra also has a separate two bedroomed apartment underneath the villa which has its own entrance with no view of the sea but has sliding glass doors to an outside seating area with table and chairs adjacent its entrance door. This apartment would be ideal for extended family or teenage family members, as they still have use of the pool, garden etc.
There is a car port for all villas which gives shade too. Anemos stands for winds in Greek and there can be a good breeze at this area of the island. Some days it was quite strong but laid on a sun bed didn't effect us! We just kept the pool inflatables/toys safe overnight and when we were out exploring.
It is located between Agios Nikolaos and Elounda, only 3 minute drive east of Elounda or 10 minutes west of Agios Nikolaos.
We booked this with George and he was charming, all communication by email, it almost seemed a shame not to meet him, however Despina was lovely, welcoming us with a glorious hot lemon chicken meal on our arrival evening with a large Greek salad. She came by a number of times in our fortnight stay dropping treats in for us. George arranged for somebody to meet us off the catamaran from Santorini - with our 206 car hire which was included in the villa rental - and we followed them to the villa instead of us trying to find it in the dark with instructions.
We were only disappointed to find that there was no BBQ as quoted on their website and we had to buy and build one on our second day so that we could enjoy outdoor cooking. The website also states there is a CD player with lots of CDs, there wasn't so that or an iPod speaker would be helpful. There is A/c in every room though the unit for the top floor bedroom isn't as efficient as the others. A lovely lady comes six days a week and there is a chap who tends to the pool and gardens but is gone early.
Elounda has a two small supermarkets in the square. Agios has a Carrefour and Lidl just off the outer ring road. There are a couple of bakeries located near the hospital in Agios which were very well stocked with delicious food. The street market in Elounda isn't worth going to on Friday and the Agios Nikoloas market on Wednesday is good to stock up on fruit and vegetables. We found the stall holders to be the most friendly in the whole of Europe!
