“What a thoroughly relaxing time we had!”

We had some concerns having read some of the postings before we went but I can honestly say we had absolutely no problems with the hotel, the staff, food or facilities.

Our room was comfy, we had a shared pool both of which were cleaned daily and towels replenished. I don't remember seeing a piece of litter whilst we were there and the restaurant was always immaculate as was the private beach area.

The buffet choice was changed daily and there was copious amounts of fruit available. The new Asian restaurant opened whilst we were there and this was amazing too - did have to pay for this just as you would any other restaurant but even that was reasonable.

We used the spa which was extremely relaxing and a lovely setting.

All the staff, without exception, were helpful and friendly making it an extremely lovely holiday and we wouldn't hesitate to return there.

Room Tip: If you have trouble walking up hills. Do ask for a room lower down the hill as it is a steep climb h...

Even before we arrived at the hotel we were overwhelmed with the views and weren't disappointed when we arrived. The view from our room was restricted by the neighbouring hotel but nonetheless we could see the sea and passing boats
The room was quite basic with completely blank walls which made the room feel a bit 'cold' and empty. This could easily be remedied by paintings
The staff were very accommodating most of the time. Poor Mary at the pool bar is overworked though and she needs help to run an efficient service. Restaurant staff were a little too keen to clear plates sometimes resulting in losing my supper! Hot drinks were heavily overpriced in our opinion. It often felt like we were paying for the all inclusive guests! Reception was well maintained and bar staff were pleasant and accommodating with our requests
Food was varied. The buffet was not varied enough and we returned to a very similar offering night after night. The lunch buffet is not worth going all inclusive for. It's like a sample of dinner dishes waiting for you.
Overall we had a lovely holiday and enjoyed the varied facilities. Perhaps a rethink on drink prices (steep spa prices too for that matter) and decor would push this hotel into the 'Outstanding' category.

Went here for a restful break in the sun. Amazing views from your balcony and the resturant. The staff were brilliant and the food very good and a big plus was the air conditioning (free) beach towels, sunbeds and as was the wifi if you needed it. Room cleaned every day. Can't think of anything negative to say only positives and would have loved to stay longer and would go back again.

I am just back from a weeks stay at this hotel. the views you get from the restraunt are unbelievable and the scenery is fantastic.

As previously mentioned Thomas cook aren't very efficient when it comes to transfers but you can't blame the hotel for this - it took us one hour to get to the hotel and got to see some of the island on our travels.

We had a room with a shared pool - we had deck chairs and sun loungers and a sea view which was great and gave us the privacy we needed if we didn't want to be by the pool or the beach.

The room had been renovated, sky tv with a couple of British channels and had a sport/movie channel as well. the finishing wasn't fantastic but with scenery like that around how much time are you going to sound cooked up in your room.

The food had a good selection and the cheeses and puddings were great. the staff were very attentive and friendly. the Asian restraunt had just opened on one of the upper terraces again either breath taking views.

There were still some renovations going on but this Did not impact purpose stay.

A fantastic holiday and would recommend it for a chilled out break.

We came to this hotel hopeful of enjoying a relaxing honeymoon child free but sadly what we got was anything but.
When we arrived we were told that just a small amount of painting was being done for just half a day but we experienced sawing, drilling and banging everyday for most the day. One morning we were eating breakfast on the terrace and were showered with rawl plugs, screws and our places were covered in saw dust.
On another occasion we were asked to vacate our room for a few hours so they could do some work. We were hoping this was to install a screen ( which we were promised when we arrived) around our not so private pool which everyone thought they could use but unfortunately what they did was install some random looking shelves which hung from the ceiling and were put In such a stupid place we kept hitting our heads on them. Not sure why this couldn't have been done once we checked out. The Indoor pool and jacuzzi was freezing cold not that we stuck around as the builders were in there too. The room was dated , the bottom of the wardrobes were rotting for some random reason Which I think caused us to have a population of woodlice visiting us everyday. The bathroom was tatty the shower poorly installed and flooded everywhere. The shower heads were totally scaled up and the drains in there wreaked.
The staff with the power I didn't think cared and just wanted your money however the restaurant staff and the guy behind the bar were really good but also over worked and could have done with more help. The views from the hotel were breathtaking and it was a really nice scenic walk down to elounda along the sea front . To get to elounda took around 15 mins although longer in dark as the path is poorly lit.
Overall in my opinion this hotel is not worth staying in untill all the renovations are complete including the bedrooms but when complete could be really nice. The private pools really aren't private and some of the staff could do with going on customer relation courses. I wish we d booked one of the hotels further up towards plaka the next village which is a really nice place. Sadly we ll only have one honey moon and made the mistake of booking the elounda blu!

My Husband and I went here for our wedding and honey moon from the 15 of May to the 22nd and loved every moment of it. Thee had a normal room with see view and the rooms are not to much to brag about the beds are hard and the furniture is pretty regular but we really didn't care about that because the service and the view made up for it by far. The food is fabulous_ breakfast buffet with lots of choices same for dinner. The breakfast you get drinks, dinner you have to pay for them if you have half board like us and it is pricy but it is a tourist place what can you expect. The veiw from the restaurant where you have breakfast and dinner is the best view and so relaxing. The hotel service is really just great. We also enjoyed going to the bar at night and sitting at the bar because the bartender is full of fun and likes to tell stories and share all different types of Greek drinks with you we loved it. We would love to go back again. The hotel is pretty far out but the town of elounda has little shops and is really cute and only a 15 minute walk and a really great walk on the ocean front. If you do walk into elounda eat at a place called Despina I promise you won't be sorry great prices and excellent food. Buses also come by the hotel all hours of the day to take you to different towns and places you would like to see very convenient. The beaches are lovely and relaxing and the pool is such a great area to sit at. They also have a spa with a jacuzzi and indoor pool. We found that to be a bit upsetting we went in the indoor pool the one it was running Nd the jacuzzi was freezing. And we asked to have it turned up and they never did anything about it but that is truly the only bad thing I can say about the hotel. I even enjoyed the steep hill of the hotel I felt it just made the place.

Room Tip: If planning to spend lots of time in rooms I would pick one of the more pricy ones with a pool. Not...

My partner and I stopped at the Elounda Blu from the 18th to the 25th of May 2012 and from previous reviews along with good brochure advertisements we were both expecting a lot however we left disappointed. A number of advertised attractions did not even exist! No Tennis court, no Asian a la Carte roof top restaurant, no table tennis, no sandy beach just shale and the "Gym" consisted of a treadmill and weights bench with few weights that actually fitted. The remaining equipment was in some shape or form broken and that was only 3 more pieces of equipment.
The hotel itself is very clean and well looked after and staff are excellent but to call this 4 star is stretching the imagination we feel. Having paid that bit extra for a junior suite, sea view room the room was not as pictured in the brochure as the "BRNHL" review states and we were very surprised to find the jacuzzi/bath in the living area next to the television and small sofa.... Also please note that even if you are All inclusive you will still need to pay for bottled water which again was a shock to us both.
All in all lovely if you want to sit by the pool all day but definitely not what you expect from the brochures.

Room Tip: If you are not particularly fit then rooms lower down ie starting with a 3 or lower are well recomen...
