We decided to leave the disgusting city of Crete and head to Elounda for a more relaxing and inviting stay. We arrived around 10 am and were told the room would be ready around noon. So we killed a couple hours in town and then went back up to check in at 12:00. At that point the guy said the room still wasn't ready and to come back in 20 minutes. We were exhausted from all of our traveling and honestly just wanted to take a nap but we sat out by the pool for 30 more minutes. It was a nice setup outside and it seemed like it was kept very clean but we didn't actually use the pool at all while we stayed here. After the 30 minutes elapsed we checked in yet again and he told us we STILL needed to wait and that check in was at 3. We were pretty annoyed at this point. Once we finally got in the room we layed down on the beds and I am not lying when I say it felt like we were laying on cardboard boxes. The bed was EXTREMELY uncomfortable and far from relaxing. The fact that the island of Crete makes you stuff your dirty toiletries down a trash can is disgusting and this hotel's bathroom just felt nasty as well. There was black mold in the shower grout and water gets everywhere just like all European bathrooms apparently.

We thought the town was nice but thankfully we had a car to get us down there. Otherwise it seems like it's a pain to travel in and out of the city.

I would never stay here again unless they get new beds. More
