My wife and I wanted to go somewhere different for my 60th and we had heard about The Hope so on our way back from a walk to Elounda we went in search of the restaurant, reasonably easy to find but at the top of a fairly steep hill, we walked inside and had the most marvellous welcome from the owner Demitries, had a look around and a drink liked what we saw, real greek taverna quite small with no more than 40 covers, in an outside covered terrace, booked a table for the following Saturday. Decided on taking a taxi wise move and 5euros, same welcome once again and we were shown to a reserved table with spectacular views of Elounda. The menu was quite varied and extensive and good size Mezze portions at reasonable prices.
I could go on but it's a lot easier to say try it you will not be disappointed.
