“Friendly and relaxing”
Reviewed 12 October 2013

Stayed here for 5 nights in early October, and what a lovely place it is. At Elounda Heights you can be as involved as you want to be. Our apartment (Daphne) was spacious, clean and had everything you need and more. The views are fantastic from all around the grounds.
We ate down in Elounda every night - the hill is not that bad, take it at a steady pace and you're okay (and have a couple of "look how far we've come" stops on the way), thought I suspect it would have take us a little longer in July or August!!
If there was one teeny weeny moan it was the safety deposit box - because the key is on the fob with the card for the electicity you have to remember to get your money etc out before it goes dark, or as we did, open it by the light from your phone!!!
However, we would most definitely stay here again.

The greatest advantage of this place is the stunning view you get from practically everywhere. The hotel is placed on a hill, so you can see pretty much everything.

In addition, the place is kept clean and tidy, with a lot of animals and vegetation to give it a more natural feel. The staff members are friendly and polite.

There were two minor disadvantages, in my opinion:

The first is the climate control. The air conditioner in my room needed quite a few hours to cool the room to the decent temperature, and there's that annoying coin slot you need to keep feeding in order to keep the air conditioner working. You get the coins free of charge, but it's an annoyance nonetheless.

The second minor disadvantage is the entrance. You need to travel a couple hundred meters on a steep incline of an unpaved road, which could be a problem if you're not an experienced driver or if your vehicle doesn't come with a decent engine or 4x4 wheel drive.

All in all, a great place! If I'm ever in Elounda again, I'm definitely coming back to Elounda Heights!

We stayed here as our friends were getting married at Elounda Heights. It is a fantastic place - the owners, Vangelis and Ann can't do enough for you. The apartment we were in was lovely, we had an air conditioned bedroom, a living room with a kitchenette and a good sized bathroom. The balcony overlooked the pool and had amazing views across the bay to Spinalonga.

We took a boat trip with Vangelis and it was a real highlight - sun bathing on deck to snorkelling to drinking a rather potent rakki disguised as orange juice - the day was just amazing. The food at the hotel is lovely, great choice and different each day too.

The wedding itself was faultless, everything ran so smoothly - a lovely, relaxing evening.

We would highly recommend staying here - looking forward to coming back in the future.

We visited here as a mature couple for a week of relaxation after a busy few months at work. It was wonderful! The hotel is located up a rather steep hill but it's well worth it for the panoramic views you get when you are there in your apartment or by the pool. The apartments are well equipped, basic but very clean and all have an outdoor space. Vangelis (owner) does a weekly boat trip which was a highlight for us, great fun, plenty of food and drinks and also got to meet fellow guests which enhanced the holiday. The Thursday maze/ BBQ evening is also worthwhile and great fun.
Deborah who works in the pool bar and restaurant is friendly, professional, helpful and a great asset to the hotel. She is full of information and a great pleasure to meet.
If you are looking for somewhere to stay in Crete to relax, have some peace, god company and food, this is it!

Ths was our third visit to Elounda Heights and it never disappoints. The family ( virtually ) run appartments and studios are situated at the top of a hill with the most magnificent views over the bay of Elounda and Spinalonga. The rooms are more than adequate for the price and the pool area with its surrounding gardens are beautiful. Vangelis and Ann are excellent hosts along with their daughter Natalie and staff Deborah, Christina and the gardener. The food is " home cooked " by Vangelis and is excellent. Can`t wait until next visit in 2014.

After staying here last year for two weeks and having such a wonderful time we booked again and have just spent another two weeks in the company of Vangelis and Anne. Once again we had a wonderful time . This family run hotel has 19 studios/apartments. All have wonderful views over the Bay of Mirabello. The pool and pool bar are really inviting and the food both there and at dinner is really good. The weekly boat trips and Meze/ BBQ are a great way to make friends with the other guests. Guests come back year after year.

A wonderful holiday location.

I stayed here for 5 nights in the beginning of September. This place is on top of a hill overlooking Elounda. The staff are very helpful and friendly, and make you feel very much at home. The pool with a view is amazing, and the poolside service is great. Vangellis is the hotel owner and was very friendly helpful and gave me some good tips for hiking up from the property to the top of the hill, which I would also recommend for an amazing view. Its only a small place, so you definitely get a much more personalized service than at a bigger resort. Its also very good value for money. The walk to town is about 5 minutes downhill, maybe slightly more on the way up, as the hill is very steep. My only complaint would be that the air conditioning could be a little better and stronger. It was very hot in the period I was there, 30 and higher everday, and remained above 20 at night. I found myself very hot for the first few nights until l figured out that it was actually cooler if you left the windows open rather than close the windows with the air conditioning on. The air conditioning unit and the its power source were also slightly noisey. Apart from that, I would recommend this place to anybody planning a trip to Elounda.

Room Tip: Some of the rooms have much better views with balconies, I would recommend asking depending on prefe...
