For our first holiday together we wanted a relaxing stay somewhere hot. We're a young (22-24) English couple and we chose Elounda Heights as the TripAdvisor views were so positive about the place. We can only add to these comments, Elounda Heights is fantastic!
Ann quickly and cooperatively sorted our booking directly and also organised us an easy transfer from Herakilion airport in a smart air-conditioned Mercedes. All her help in the travel organsing made the booking and travel totally stress-free!
We were welcomed by the other half of the couple, Vangellis, who made us feel at home instantly and went out of his way on the first day and everyday after to look after us.
We stayed in a 2 bed studio which was very clean, spacious and comfortable. We used the kitchentte to make breakfast and a couple of lunches but mostly we ate lunch at the poolbar as Vangelli's cooking is out of this world! Especially we loved his homemade fried potatoes (chips) and special homegrown chilli sauce!
The little touches like bottled water, milk and fresh fruit in your fridge at arrival made a massive difference and reflects how Ann and Vangelli think of every detail to make your stay perfect.
On the 2nd night we had the group BBQ, highly reccomened for the great food, drink and getting to know the other guests over a tournament of boules! Vangelli prepared the veggie guest her own special meat-free alternatives for each coursel that looked and tasted yummy! After the BBQ we ate at Elounda Heights every night as the quality of food was so good, and Ann and Vangelli's idea of quality for reasonable price was evident. We both had the Greek inspired specials each time as they really showed off Vangelli's culinary skills but a full English menu of more great food is also on offer.
We spent the majority of the days by the pool, which had an amazing view of he surrounding coutryside and Elounda harbour, playing games and having fun with the other guests who were up for a laugh but during peak sun it quietened down and whilst some caught rays in the high 30'c cloudless heat, others went to the shady pool bar to join Vangelli in sampling his famous Raki!
One of the outstanding elements of Elounda Heights are the beautiful gardens which not only grow gorgeous flowers and add freshness and lushness to the place but also grow alot of Vangelli's cooking ingredients. The gardens which Vangelli grows and tenders himself set it apart from the other residences on offer in Elounda.
We only discovered air-conditioning tokens after the 2nd night but they are really reasonable at 15euros for 10 four-hour tokens which easily lasted us our 5 night stay.
Our only regret is that we didnt stay longer! a stay should be 10 stay minimum! and although we mostly stayed in the resort there is plenty to see, do and explore in the town which we will go back to do next time!
Elounda Heights has every element for the perfect holiday, sun sea, pool, views, amzing food and plenty of drink. All in all our stay was like visiting a slice of heaven.
EFHARISTO POLI Ann and Vangelli!!

We have stayed and reviewed Elounda Heights before, but it is worth doing again to let everyone know that the standards have not dropped.
Our room wasone of the apartments in the newer block and was, as always, spotless and well maintained. It was spacious offering the excellent views across the Mirabello Bay. Cleaning was done at least 3 times a week, but maybe more.
Food was, again, excellent as ever and as my wife was ill with a throat infection during our stay (picked up in the UK by the way, not Greece), Vangelis kindly made food at our request that was easy to swallow.
The boat trip was as relaxing and fun as always, but sadly I didn't catch any fish this time, better luck next year.
Anyone who hasn't visited will read the reports on here and other sites and hear about the hill that the Heights sits on. Yes it is a bit of a climb, but the peace and views it offers are without equal.
I won't go on repeating what everyone has already written, but suffice to say, you CANNOT GO WRONG if you stay here. It is without equal in Elounda - possibly Crete for location, service, food, relaxation and memories.
Ann and Vangelis are excellent hosts and can't do enough for you. They also have a great "backroom" staff of Alan, Natalie and Kristina who are always cheerful and helpful.
Needless to say, we will be back next year.

The location of Elounda heights gives you views that are simply stunning and with such peaceful surroundings you can not be anything but completely relaxed. The gardens are full of beautiful flowers and fruit trees which encloses a lovely swimming pool with a far too tempting pool bar!
The boat trip on a Sunday is a must! That's all we want to say as it's best to experience it yourself.
We would definitely return and look forward to next summer.

Anne and Vangellis are the best hosts I've ever had.they seem driven to make your stay as good as they can offer.
All the food is of a very high standard and some may say expensive, however you do not get food of this quality this cheap.
you only have to ask and they will do their best to help.
from places to visit, help with Greek, history good walks and menu tips, you only have to ask.
the time there, the hosts and Elounda Heights makes it a pleasure to stay at.

As so many have said before us, Elounda Heights is a wonderful find, in a gorgeous area of Crete. Ann and Vangelis are lovely hosts and the accommodation is kept absolutely spotlessly clean. We only ate there for the bbq night, simply because one of the things we enjoy on holiday is choosing which restaurant to eat in each evening but I know Vangellis's food was much appreciated by all who enjoyed it each evening and there is no pressure to eat if you prefer to go into town in the evening. The other guests were very friendly and it was nice to get to know everyone at the bbq and on the Sunday boat trip - another highlight of our holiday. All in all, one of the best holidays we have spent. Only slight downside perhaps is The Hill - as someone waiting for a hip replacement, it was too much for me, but we just used our hire car in the day time, then walked down in the evening and got a taxi back up - worth every penny of the 5 euros taxi fare for us!

I was lucky enough to spend 3 weeks at Elounda Heights in May this year. As I was planning on holidaying by myself I did plenty of research in trying to find somewhere that was right for me (single girl mid thirties!) Elounda Heights ticked ALL the boxes!

I opted for a one bedroom apartment because of the length of time I was staying, however I did manage to get a wee look at the studios and they would have been fine for a single person or a couple if you wanted to save a few Euros but not compromise on standards. Both studios and apartments are very clean, comfortable (beds are very cosy!) and all have a balcony or terrace. The only comment that I would make is that the kitchen areas could have done with some more utensils to cook with. The apartments are cleaned (linen and towels changed) I think once a week but it seemed like every other day they were given a quick clean (bins emptied, floors swept, etc) so very happy with that.

My favorite area is the garden, pool and pool bar - for the first week I pretty much spent the entire day here. The view is amazing, the gardens are colourful and fragrant and the pool - very fresh! But perfect for cooling down in - and ahh the pool bar. Vangelis is there from morning until teatime preparing specials for dinner, making breakfast, lunch and snacks. The Cretian wine is looovely and it was a great spot to chat to other guests if you wanted a wee bit of company but also if you didn't you could relax by the pool reading and nobody would disturb you.

Every week there is a BBQ or mezes night and also a day trip, the boat trip was great fun and the food is AMAZING! Elounda town itself is very pretty and has lots of shops, restaurants and bars - nothing too wild or rowdy though which suited me just fine.

All in all I can't fault it and I don't think my review even comes close to describing how pretty much perfect my time at Elounda Heights was. Ann and Vangelis are perfect hosts, helpful, friendly, nothing was too much trouble. I dealt with Ann when making my booking, she was always very quick to respond to any queries I had and Vengelis is the most fabulous chef and charming barman!!

Go and stay at Elounda Heights - you won't be disappointed!

Beautiful views, pretty clean rooms, lovely surroundings, good food, and very fine hosts....Its everything everyone has said before and more.
Having stayed in Crete (not Elounda) in a five star Hotel we thought we wouldnt be able to better that, but mainly due to the people (including Vangelis and Ann) and the location, and food...we did!
We most definitely recommend it, once you go, you most probably wont want to go anywhere else in Crete.
