“Quirky little museum”
Reviewed 19 August 2012

This is a quuirky but wonderful little museum. Every exhibit is labelled with loads of detail. The exhibits cover the culture of Crete with faming and agricultaral references and some historical pieces related to the German occupation during World War ll. Lots of baskets. I didn't know that there was such a variation in the making of baskets! It is really interesting and worth a visit

“Off the beaten path, worth a detour”
Reviewed 22 July 2012

A small museum in Vori, 2 kms from the archeological site of Phaistos. It presents the daily life of Crete organized by theme: agriculture, fishing, weaving, etc., in a lovely old house. It takes about 45 minutes to go through the museum. The museum has received awards for the quality of its exhibitions.

“Excellent display of everyday life”
Reviewed 21 June 2012

This little museum, in Vori - a pretty, traditinal village near Gourtys & Faistos - really 'punches above its' weight'. it's full of traditional day-to-day objects such as baskets, farming implements, fabrics etc which depict everyday life in Crete over the last couple of hundred years. AND, unusually, it's very well displayed & perfectly titled, with clear descriptions in Greek & English. Absolutely charming.

“Small but fab”
Reviewed 29 November 2011

This museum is a little of the beaten trail but we liked thtt it was in a small village. After an interesting tour in the very ifomative museum with loads of artifacts and infornation, we sat in the square outside and could really imagine the life before in crete. Great place to take a break if you are touring the island. Food and drink is availble in the village. Traditonal taverna where I had a fabulous cretan salad.
