Capsis Astoria Heraklion Hotel

We were traveling with a five year old so what made us chose this hotel was its central location and the parking service. The room was exactly what I saw in the picture, very clean and as the bed was king size we didn't need to sqeeze a crib. We were informed that the rooms on the fourth floor are noisy so we stayed in a room on the second floor. Aparently the bar on the roof is a very popular bar in the town.
Regarding breakfast, they had a big variety and good quality which also included tradotional Cretan tastes, and the room was large enough for everyone to find a table.
The staff was very kind and check in- check out was fast.
What I didn't enjoy was the pool as they had no sun umbrellas and it was too hot up there!

Next time I will definately stay there again.

Room Tip: Fourth floor rooms noisy.

The hotel is in the centre of Heraklion and very easy to walk around and to the most important sites/museums. The rooms are quite big and the service is excellent. I highly recommend the restaurant they have downstairs with the traditional Greek food which is very nice and the prices are very reasonable.

The hotel is close to centre of town and can walk everywhere. However there is no parking available. It is about a 20 minute walk to the port and only 7 euro in taxi. There was a good breakfast and staff very helpful and friendly. would definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: All rooms are good. Front ones better view, but noisier.

I stayed here for more than a week in early April and found it a very pleasant hotel at very good value for money. I stayed in an executive room on the 4th floor of 4 which was very spacious and well appointed with a comfortable large bed, a nice bathroom, a really good seating area and a balcony. It faces the sea at the back of the hotel, overlooking a quiet street and was very tranquil, especially given one is in the heart of the city. The room was kept very clean and the room staff were very thoughtful.

The pool and it's bar, which was overhead, was not open at that time of year so I didn't experience any of the noise problems that others have mentioned. I guess that might have made the 4th floor less attractive.

Although it was a relatively quiet time of year, throughout my stay there were a number of large groups of guests staying for a few days, some in their teens, and yet the hotel remained quiet and it's good running was uninterrupted. I appreciated the use of computer terminals which are accessible for free, though for most of the week I resisted being online. I believe there is free wi-fi, though I didn't have a device with me so can't confirm.

The staff throughout were really lovely. All requests were met with a completely friendly and professional response and everyone was genuinely helpful.

Breakfast was very good. Just about anything one could think of to eat, and a few that one might not have thought of. I ate in the hotel on a number of evenings when tired from the day out and ate out on others. I don't expect it's the cheapest food in town and it's fairly standard fare, but it was competently cooked, the staff were very nice and there is a very pleasant dining room.

Heraklion has a lot to offer in terms of things to see and has good shopping. The hotel could not be better placed for all of that, also for transport links and is a short walk to the sea. The city is a good hub for exploring the island and there are lots of not to be missed experiences that are too many to mention.

Room Tip: Executive room was super. The north west corner room is very large and has a spacious terrace. I bel...

We stayed here for a short one night stay on our way to Santorini via the Ferry from Heraklion. This is a great little hotel in the central part of Heraklion. Close to everything that you need to visit in Heraklion and right next to the bus stop that has connections everywhere.
You are within a 5 minute walking distance to the waterfront and close to all types of restaurants. The staff was very helpful and provided good advise on what places to checkout in the area given the limited amount of time we had in Heraklion.
Overall a great hotel, well managed with great staff. My only feedback would be that they need to improve the quality of the items they put on for breakfast.

Every year I am going to this hotel and for me it's a very good place. You have a swimming pool on the top of the building . Certainly there is noise but this the most central hotel of the city. Dedalou street is behind the hotel bus stops and taxis are just behind of the entrance of the hotel. You have all the shops you want near you habitation.
Just wonderful.....
