Kastro (koules) is situated on the beach promenade of Ieraperta as most of the town's restaurants. The thing with this tavern is that it is not just another tourist trap, and one can understand that rather quickly by noticing two things: first, no signs with pictures of the dishes, etc, and secondly local people eating their mezedes usually inside the place.
The food is not amazing but it is simple, tasty, close to home made food and you do not feel like being cheated on. The place is very simple too but also pleasant with a view to Ierapetra fortress (actually two steps from it) and the see breeze on your face.
I recommend this place to those who want to try greek/cretan cuisine as usually made in local taverns and not massive tourist traps.
