Loved this place. It was very quiet when we visited but the menu ticked all our boxes. All our order was made fresh to order. Nothing to fault. Wish more people would sample the delights here. Inexpensive too.

Taverna Old Town is in the center of Rethymno, near the Minaret and the Folk art museum. Here I eat always different mezes with a good glass of wine and finish with raki. Giannis has local sausages, Eggplant and Zuchini oies, feta cheese, salads, Apaki smoked pork and home made stuffed potatoes with cheese or other filling.
Open all year and weekends live Greek or Cretam music.
