“Ras 7 First Class Hotel”
Reviewed 31 July 2014

This was our third visit to the Sentido Beach Hotel and again we were reminded of the high quality of customer service. The staff provide a friendly, caring atmosphere at all levels going out of their way to make clients feel welcome and happy that their needs are a priority. The room was clean and well equipped with fridge, safe etc. The bar and restaurant staff provided a very high standard of service and food of a good standard. We would have no hesitation in revisiting this hotel.

We arrived at the hotel after about an hour an a half coach journey ( through some lovely scenery )on arrival we were given a cool flannel and a drink of juice while we filled forms in . Our room was 519 a garden room , large room typical Greek standards , very clean with Tea and Coffee facilities , free Safe and a Fridge , we didn’t try the TV I don’t go on my jolls to watch TV . The bed was hard but a mattress topper was put on which made it more comfortable but we asked for softer pillows which were just as hard as the ones we had .
The food was excellent with lots to choose from & the service was also excellent , all the staff are so friendly and helpful
The first week we were there ( we arrived 20/6/14 ) wasn’t as busy as the second week , the pool area seemed to be getting very busy , we went on the beach – if you are All Inclusive you don’t pay for the sun beds & umbrella ( 5 Euros )
The walk into Rethymnon took about half an hour it’s a lovely walk , Taxi 5 Euro – Rethymnon Old Town is such a nice place .
While we were there we took a trip to the Samari Gorge ( well worth it ) Gramvousa & Balos Beach , a visit to Preveli beach is well worth the trek down all the steps

I would definitely go back to this hotel

I travelled to this Hotel at the beginning of June with my mum. We arrived at reception around midnight and were swiftly checked in. A member of staff soon appeared to show us to our room. We were in room 622 which was near the back of the hotel near the restaurant. After looking around the room it did seem a bit small. I have read other people made a fuss and got their room changed but to be honest the room was clean and its not as if we planned on spending a lot of time in it. I did have two tiny complaints about the room there wasn't enough drawer space and the bath was not long enough. Both things were minor so not worth complaining about. The good thing about the room was its position. It was right next to the pool and the restaurant. The restaurant served a mixture of food and it changed nightly. Breakfast had the usual variety so you could find something you liked. The staff always greeted you with a smile and were very pleasant and friendly. All the staff at the hotel were friendly and if you needed anything they would try and help. The hotel did have its own section of beach across the road that looked pretty nice but I never used it. The walk to the old town took about 40 - 45 minutes but it was a nice walk along the promenade. There were shops you could go into along the way. One other reviewer mentioned pushy shop staff. I never encountered any of this. I found all the staff in the shops I went into to be very friendly and polite. Maybe they went into different shops although I went into most of them. One shop owner even ordered something in for me as he didn't have it in stock. Some of the restaurants and cafes asked if you would like to come in for something to eat or drink but I always found a smile and no thank you went a long way. If you are looking for a hotel with friendly staff in a good position then this is the one for you.

I visited the hotel at date 20.6 - 27.6 2014. It is located in the east end of the fine Beach Road in Rethymno on a distance of 4 kilometres from the city centre. It was my 14th trip to this same hotel. This 4 star hotel is very good. The food and the service are excellent. The rooms are very good and comfortable. The complete hotel area, only 50 metres from the sea, is very clean. The garden is green with nice flowers and trees. The staff at the hotel is very friendly and they meet the visitors in a nice way.In the evenings there are fine dancing and music programs. Outside the hotel there is a good sand beach for swiming. The hotel is owner of this beach. If you travel to Rethmno stay in this hotel I am sure that you will like it.

Room Tip: Order a room with sea view.

We arrived after a exhausting 3 hour transfer by coach. (the brochure said transfer was 1 hour). It was 1 hour and a bit by taxi that cost us 60E on way home! The room we were shown to was small. I made a fuss in the morning and we were shown to a nice room near the garden at the back. We were told we could not go in the 5 star pool. It was a shame as this pool was mostly empty and I had never been told not to go in a pool in a part of the hotel I was staying before.

There was not enough sunbeds. I sat down on one and a Dutch guest was very rude told me to 'go back to your own country', and his mates threatened Paul. The other guests turned a blind eye and the management did nothing.

However when the unpleasant Dutch people left things settled down. We enjoyed the food. The place was clean. The staff were nice.

The room TV was awful, no English channels. The hotel is a long way from the town centre, it is best to get a cab which cost you 5E.

The entertainment was boring, the disco was OK. Down the road was better entertainment, African fire eaters and a good tenor singing.

This hotel should be three star and I think the next door one should be 4 star (it is 5)

The town was lovely but very pushy shop keepers that get on your nerves after a while.

The town had graffitti on the walls that should have been painted over.

Room Tip: Ask for a Garden room.

We (5 persons) stayed in Sentido Pearl Beach for 1 week in June. There seems to be different kinds of rooms. Our superior was a new one and fine, but also saw a double room with a bed of 120 cm; quite small to big people. Our friends had an old double room with extra bed - quite dark, but enough space. No traffic noices to those rooms which was important. The breakfast buffet was really more than we expected. Had to be careful to avoid extra kilos. Also a nice surprise was the morning excercise and aqua gym. Really enjoyed that and also the guided walking tour and Greek kitchen lecture - free of charge. Used with pleasure the gym and the spa pedikyr.Polite and competent personnel!

The pool area was nice and clean and enough sunbeds. Not a lot of children maybe because not high season. The beach was just across the street which was also great. The taxi to the old town costed only 5 euros. Totally a good choice for our holiday. "The friends from Helsinki, Finland"

Room Tip: - If a superior double room, check that the bed is not 120 cm in case you are not used to that. - T...

We arrived late and we were so tired that we didn't notice how small and dark our allocated room was. The next morning we were changed to a much better room without any fuss. There seem to be a lot of small rooms so be sure to ask for a large room. Breakfast was OK and lunch at the bar was very good. We only tried dinner twice - it was OK but I would not fancy it for 7 or 14 nights. The pool area was claustrophobic but there was a section of beach allocated to the hotel that was really good (but cost €6 per day). When you get into the water you find a lot of rocks and it is a good idea to invest in beach shoes for around €7. If you want a change from the beach try a train journey up to the villages in the hills (€14 each).
The walk into town was 45 mins - a nice walk along the coast. A taxi back to the hotel is well worth €5! Food quality was a pleasant surprise - we particularly liked Avli, Erofili and The Well. These cost us around €35 each but there were lots of OK places to eat at around €15 each to balance the budget. The later you went to the old town the more livelier it was. Overall it had a lovely Venetian feel about it.
If you want a relaxing holiday this hotel and Rethymno will not not disappoint you.

Room Tip: Sea view and road view rooms are larger and brighter than most garden view rooms
