After reading previous reviews this proved a perfect choice for our second visit to Crete after a 8 year gap. Angela and her staff are very friendly and helpful if you treat with with the respect they deserve ( unlike some of the visitors who can be very rude to staff) They were always happy to assist and enjoyed a daily chat. The facilities and breakfast are excellent and lovely surroundings. The position is great especially if you have a car , as once you figure your way to the hotel they have a very large car park opposite which is really helpful in rethymnon where parking is difficult. you have your pick of walks down the narrow Venetian like streets to find yourself in the hustle and bustle of the city within 10 mins of the residence. The Fortress can be viewed from the 2 residence sun terraces and you are also a couple of mins from the sea where you can pop out to watch the beautiful sunsets each evening. There is a small pool , good for kids or just cooling your feet after a day out . The rooms vary but have the bonus of kitchen facilities . Overall a fantastic holiday with this as a base.

Room Tip: Would suggest a room on the upper floors if you don't mind stairs. We recommend Room 205 as it w...

Low quality for a high price ! You can find much better in the town with more affordable prices.
People are rude and not helpful.
The rooms are ok.
The breakfast is awful.
The building need to be renovated.
Not ideally located compare to other hotels with lower prices .

Convenient location for the old harbour and old town. Room was old fashioned but spacious with comfortable beds and efficient air conditioning. Good bathroom with a very powerful over-bath shower. Staff were very helpful and welcoming. Continental breakfast was basic but perfectly nice. There is a spacious (unsurfaced) private shared car park directly opposite, once you have worked out how to get to it via the one-way system, which was very convenient and free. Due to its location you will not get a room with a nice view, but that's to be expected in the old part of town.

From the outside, it's not quite as attractive as the pictures on the website, and it's located directly next to the Police station, which our small balcony overlooked, but this wasn't a problem and in fact was quite entertaining on the night they decided to carry out spot checks on tourists and also one extremely irate and vocal Cretan taxi driver ! Inside it is just as described and the small dip pool is a pleasant place to cool off. There is a small sun terrace on top with good sun beds.

Overall we enjoyed our stay very much and have no reservations in recommending it.

Room Tip: I don't think any of the rooms had a view worth asking for, and whilst our was at the busiest si...

We spent one night at Palazzo Vecchio and should have stayed longer. The staff was very friendly and helpful. One went out of her way to try to help us with car rental issue. IN addition the hotel is very attractive and located very close to the old fortress and the narrow streets of the old city. I highly recommend it!

Room Tip: Upstairs are even quieter.

Lovely hotel and staff. Terrific location & fine rooms with impressive architectural features. Easy to park car in nearby free municipal area (200 metres away) and then everything reachable on foot. Downside is that on ground floor one may be disturbed by early breakfast eaters - we were at 6.30 Sunday morning. Angela who runs the place a model of efficiency and friendliness.

Have just returned from a lovely week at the Palazzo Vecchio on Crete. A warm welcome on arrival even though we were early and offered breakfast. Staff are wonderful and very obliging and nothing is any trouble for them. The Hotel is very comfortable and is like being at home as you feel so relaxed. We felt during our week that we were part of the furniture and staying with friends and having other friends staying also. It was difficult to leave and on leaving Angela and one of her colleagues even took our luggage to the pick up point. I could never say enough about this Hotel and its staff and would love to come back. Fingers crossed.#

Room Tip: Not all rooms have balconies but that did not bother us as we were near the courtyard/pool and it wa...
