“Good place in Rethymnon downtown”
Reviewed 2 September 2013

Good place to stay if you want to be in the downtown area of Rethymnon. It's just 3 walking minutes away from the citycenter. The beachfront is also close by, but there are other hotels which are directly at the beach and have an own beach area with sunbeds, etc.
. Breakfast is ok, but nothing special. The rooms/ apartments are well equipped, staff is friendly.

My partner and I stayed at the Jason for a week at the end of September. We stayed on a room only basis. The apartment was a good size with a lounge and dining area, bathroom and one bedroom with a good size balcony. Air conditioning was included and the safe in the room was only a few euros extra. The room was clean and the kitchen well stocked with plates, cutlery etc. Location wise you are within a short walk of the beach and the old town. The manager and the staff were very helpful and always courteous. The pool is pleasant and we enjoyed coming back from the beach for a cocktail by the pool. It's difficult to know how busy the hotel is in summer but we'll certainly return for September 2013.

Room Tip: We had room 24 (2nd floor) which had a partial view of the sea. The higher the floor you stay on th...

We arrived in the dark, having transferred from Santorini to Crete, and the taxi driver knew the apartments as soon as we mentioned them, and said “you’ll enjoy staying there”. He wasn’t wrong. The apartment was a brilliant size for the two of us. The kitchen was extremely well equipped, with plenty of cups, plates etc. The bedroom was spacious, with plenty of storage space and the beds were comfortable. The room was spotless on arrival and was serviced on a daily basis. The location was perfect, with easy access to the beach and old town. Just two drawbacks, the apartment was located near the lift, which meant noise at Breakfast and late in the evening, and the Cleaners had a sunny disposition which seemed to mean that they could chatter to other guests outside the apartment at the crack of dawn. Minor irritations, in what was otherwise a great value apartment.

Room Tip: Try and avoid rooms near the lift, as people gather and can be noisy

Very nice medium-sized hotel in great location just one block back from the beach. You can wander up to the best part of the beach in about 5 minutes and, as the hotel is located at the edge of historic centre of the town, the best restaurants and bars are nearby.

The hotel is nice and clean with a decent pool and the staff are great and offer loads of advice and travel assistance. Rethymnon is a really interesting and beautiful place to visit in the evenings and the beach is pretty good too in the season.

It would make a fine place to base yourselves for travel about the island - although the bus station is about a 15-minute walk away. Some of the rooms are family apartments which looked very big, but we stayed in a cheaper, simple room.

It was one of the first hotels I stayed in Rethymno. Close to the old town and beach. Excellent service and well decorated rooms. I know friends that come here every year twice. Enjoy a perfect place in the beautiful www.rethymnon.gr

We've just returned from an eleven day stay at the Jason. The hotel is situated one street back from the promenade on a narrow road but within easy reach of the old town, beach and harbour; excellent restaurants and shops are also within close proximity. The room was spacious well equipped and serviced regularly. All the staff were very friendly, helpful and informative. An excellent base to discover Rethymnon.

Room Tip: Ask for a harbour view.

We've just come back from a 2 week stay at the Jason Hotel Apartments.[ Oct 2011] The hotel itself is situated just 5 minutes from a great beach, 5 minutes to local tavernas and 10 minutes to The Old Town. One of the best things about the Hotel are it's staff who were always freindly and helpful plus the cleanliness of the rooms which were cleaned every day without fail [ A rarity for Greece I believe ] . There were no faults with the room, a proper shower cubicle and sufficent room to tuck away the suitcases so they didn't get in the way.
I would thoroughly recommend anyone to stay at this hotel who puts a preference on location, great bilingual staff and good sized clean rooms.
