Owner description: The setting that Gallery Art of the loom is located in was built in 1866 and was originally used as a winery serving the needs of the local society for wine production. After the great earthquake of 1956 the building remained untouched until 2010 when we renovated it and maintained intact the traditional cycladic architecture.Today the Gallery houses some of the best works by many well-known Greek artists which include oil paintings, jewelry, ceramics, glass and bronze creations and many others. In our opinion we have created an actual place of art, so enjoy!!!

The gallery is quite interesting, you can find typical santorini's souvenirs as well as selected one-of-a-kind pieces. We were a group of friends with diverse interests and we all found the items we were looking for. I also recomend this place because they are not pushy at all and the atmosphere + music + surroundings are very peacefull, difficult conditions to be found in the rest of Fira Center I must say!!

A beautiful place with unique pieces of art for special clients, but also a big variety of souvenirs, handmade clothes and loom work crafts.
The staff is very friendly and ready to answer to any question, the owners are also artists so many of the exhibits are made by themselves.
Sure its worth to visit...

I saw lots of advertising while walking to Fira. We decided to check it out, the place was a bit dark which was fine. We noticed some artists that other stores were carrying, but none of them have any prices! It seems very suspicious not to put any price tags which generally screams tourist rip off to me. The service was also only so so, not super friendly and definitely didn't seem interested in helping us.

Dear Sir, thank you for your review.
We’ve been surprised by your experience and please let us apologize, if we could not be as helpful as you have expected. One reason why you might have missed our close presence is that our shop has numerous high priced items and we are aware that we cannot put pressure on customers to buy such items. We used to greet them and ask them to let us know if they needed help later on. We have had many returning customers for the same reason, they were happy to browse around without having someone following them. Unfortunately, there’s no way for us to recall the situation, we also might have been busy helping out other customers.
In response to the price tag problem, we do have prices on each item and it must have been a rare exception if you didn’t find a price. It is usually on the back/bottom side of the items. This is an accepted way of putting price tags on artifacts. Please feel free to ask for our help. Mentioning ripping off customers, makes us feel deeply disobliged. We hope you’ve had many nice experiences in Santorini, making you forget the hard feelings.
Best regards, W. Xagoraris

I am a weaver and expected to see hand woven items and other textile arts. So, if that's what you're looking for, don't bother. I didn't evaluate the items for sale.

One of the best art galleries in Santorini. One of my favorite three art galleries...Must see oil paintings, jewelry, ceramics, glass and bronze creations. The gallery building originally used as a kanava serving the needs of the local society for wine production and built in 1866.
